The very first Annual American Poker Awards Ceremony (sponsored by PokerStars) took place in Beverly Hills on February 27th, 2015, and around 200 guests attended the event, including elite poker players, industry leaders and operators from the North American Poker World.
Daniel Colman (did not show up for the event) had an incredible year at the poker tables in 2014, so it wasn't a big surprise that he would take down the biggest award of the night: GPI Poker Player of the Year. Other big names to win awards included Team PokerStars Pros Daniel Negreanu (Poker's Best Ambassador) and Vanessa Selbst (GPI FEMALE PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD).
