The 2015 World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic ($10,000 buy-in single entry event) drew a field of 538 players when it kicked off a few days ago. Now, after four days of intensive play, there are only 12 players left in the hunt for the top prize of $1,015,860! Peter Tran (picture) will lead the remaining players to Day 5 (start this evening) with a stack of 4,120,000, which equals 25 percent of the chips in play.

Other players with decent stacks are Mike Leah (2,240,000), Peter Neff (1,682,000), Edward Ochana (1,401,000), and Igor Yaroshevskyy (1,215,000). Big names that won't return today but have cashed in the tournament include Erik Seidel (41st), Glenn Lafaye (40th), Daniel Negreanu (35th), Joe Serock (33rd), Scott Seiver (32nd), Shawn Buchanan (25th), and the last woman standing Elizabeth Montizanti (15th).

Check back tomorrow for another brief update!

A lot of big names have fallen here and, proves again, how hard it is to win one of these tournaments. Peter Tran looks to have a sizable chip lead and will take some beating.

I wonder since this tourey is by the title an LA one LA why almost no known celebrities showed up to play some cards. I read somewhere that plenty Hollywood people play poker so here's the opportunity people! Or all of them fall out before this round?

Good luck to Peter Tran in this tournament,I think this will be his biggest cash by far according to his Hendon stats and with such a big lead he will take some beating.I don't recognise many of the other names left.

Good play by the leader so far and a nice chip lead. Anyone know if this can be seen on TV? Any channel will do? Please let me know as I cannot seem to find 1 through google? Thanks Marc

There should be live updates on the WPT website, but if there isn't stream up there when they are playing, then this is probably a closed circuit or pay-per-view tourey which only can be watched within the venue or in the States.

The WPT usually have a live stream going on and if you want to see video of recent events they have quite a good choice of news clips and interviews in the archive. It can be hard to find what you are looking for but I found some interesting clips.

Yeah, agree. They have a good looking site, but navigating through archive libraries is not their forte seems to me. The missing stream/clips are the least of their problem IMO.
