Some poker players struggle to score one single live tournament title in their career, then there are those who just keep on winning tournament after tournament. Angela Radich Jordison has created several headlines this week after scoring three straight tournament victories at the Spring Poker Round Up at the Worldhorse Resort & Casino in Pendelton.
Jordison, a bar owner in Oregon and mother of two, had some minor cashes in Pendelton and Las Vegas between 2006 and 2013 but didn't have a single recorded live tourney win before the incredible winning streak began. All tournaments were no-limit hold'em, with the final one being played in shootout format. Field sizes were 537, 448 and 214 players, and she received a total of $37,907 in prize money.
"The last three tournaments have become a blur," Jordison told Card Player. "I have played more heads up in the last three days than I ever have in my life. I had hands hold against big draws, suck outs, big lay downs and big bluffs."
"The most difficult tournament for me was the third one," Jordison said. "Shootouts take a lot of concentration and I was running on little to no sleep."
