Asher Conniff, who entered the final table with the second largest stack, is the winner of the 2015 World Poker Tour Championship! Conniff, a WPT regular from Brooklyn, New York, bested a field of 239 players to lay hands on the title, $973,683 in prize money, and a Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Watch, a pair of gold Monster 24K Headphones and a WPT Champions Trophy.

But that's not all! He will also have his name inscribed on the WPT Champions Cup trophy, on which all champions from 13 seasons have their names engraved, plus get a seat worth $15,400 into next season's WPT World Championship.

Conniff told WPT reporters that it was pure coincidence that he entered this tournament. He tried to enter a Sunday major online but misclicked into an online satellite to this event. The rest is history!

Final table results:

1.  Asher Conniff  -  $973,683
2.  Alexander Lakhov  -  $573,779
3.  Brian Yoon  -  $330,358
4.  Carlos Mortensen  -  $267,764
5.  Ray Qartomy  -  $208,647
6.  Tony Dunst  -  $173,873

Conniff emerged as one of the chip leaders earlier in the tournament and held over a quarter of the chips in play with just two tables remaining. The final table was everything Conniff's way. Shortly after he eliminated WPT Raw Deal Analyst Tony Dunst was eliminated in sixth place, Conniff had amassed more than half of the chips in play with five players still remaining.

Many congratulations to Asher Conniff on winning this pretigious event and nearly one million dollars. Carlos Mortenson had an extremely good run and can be very proud of his showing

A great win for Asher Conniff, to win nearly a million dollars and a lot of other prizes is brilliant,to enter via a satellite is even better but to only be in the tournament because he chose the wrong game by accident is remarkable.

not only that he won but winning via online ticket is amazing .. this guy took almost one million dollar without even paying the full buy in xD
congrats to him
and he had the biggest stack before final table .. to be able to keep his cool and using the big stack to his advantage .. just pure skill

Conniff began heads-up play with better than a five-to-one chip lead and it didn't take long for him to finish the job. He extended his chip lead without any showdown and then was able to get all in preflop with AsQh against Lakhov's Th6h.
After a board run out of 7h5d2s4sKs, Conniff secured the win and became the 13th World Champion in WPT history.

ahhaha

This is a kind of story that just happens one time, or two if you are a guy with huge luck, but not only get the prizemoney and the title, this win bring lot of other things, like a watch, buy.in to another wpt tournament, Headphones, and the name in the trophy, he won not only $973,683, with all of that maybe he hit the million.

Sick thing.
Like LeCharleone said: "Just . . . Epic", I agree Thumbs Up

A Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Watch, a pair of gold Monster 24K Headphones and a WPT Champions Trophy engraved with my initials sure would make my weekend if you catch my drift.
Frankly the damn watch could be just enough - I wouldn't even use it in the ocean.
