The second starting day of the first-ever World Poker Tour Amsterdam Main Event drew a field of 194 entries to the Holland Casino in Amsterdam, Holland. In total, 99 players made it through to Day 2 from Day 1B, with Italian pro Giacomo Fundaro bagging up the overall chip lead.
Fundaro has over $1.1 million in tournament winnings. His biggest cash to date is a second place in the 2014 EPT San Remo Main Event (Victoria Coren won the tournament) for $414,671. When it comes to WPT results, his biggest achivement is the victory at WPT Mazagan in season 11 ($166,704).
Also through to Day 2 are Sorel Mizzi (141,200), David Boyaciyan (85,200), Pieter de Korver (81,000), David Yan (79,000), Sylvain Loosli (78,000) and Steve O'Dwyer (72,900). Amongst the players that didn't make it through the second day were WPT Champions Club Member Michael Mizrachi, Bryn Kenney, Dan Heimiller, and Paul Newey.
According to WPT's website, the total entry count currently stands at 324, with 153 players still in the tournament. We'll be back tomorrow with another update!
