For almost 20 years the World Series of Poker has honoured casino employees with their own gold bracelet event. This year is no different. A big congratulations to Brandon Barnette who just became the first bracelet winner of the 2015 WSOP after outlasting a field of 688 players over two days in the $565 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em event!

Barnette is a 29-year-old duel-rate poker supervisor from Corona, California and he was a WSOP dealer both in 2010 and 2012. According to WSOP's website, he's now the champion of two different competitions, since he once won three titles with his team at the world championship of roller hockey.

I think this is a great tournament for the employees and $75,000 to the winner is potentially a life changing amount if they want to quit their job and try more poker tournaments. There have been lots of dealers who have gone on to play professionally.

Great to see this guy winning and many congratulations to him. I always like to see the smaller stake players winning big and i doubt very much that he turned up for work after this!!

Dunno what the hell the roller hockey is and why it is having there a world championship title to be fight for in the first place, but being champion in two obscure things could mean that he either only care about obscure things or just not good enough for doing mainstream things. Choose now.
