On Saturday, Michael Wang became the first bracelet winner of an even open to all players of the 2015 WSOP, collecting $466,120 in prize money. The 26-year-old poker pro from Livingston, New Jersey bested a star-filled field of 422 entries over three days of play to win his first gold bracelet.
Wang was born in New Orleans, LA, and he is a graduate of Lehigh University in Pennsylvania with a degree in biology. He has played poker on and off professionally for about six years. This was by far the biggest score of his career.
"I'm still trying to process it," Wang told WSOP afterward. "This is the most prestigious prize in poker. This is the best thing in the game that's ever happened to me. It's going to take some time for this to sink in."
