Franco Ivan Luca is the first player from Argentina to win a bracelet in the 47-year-history of the World Series of Poker. Luca, a 23-year-old poker pro from Buenos Aires, topped a field of 2,150 entrants over four days of play to lay hands on his first gold bracelet and $353,391 in prize money.
Luca entered the fourth day, which was added due to a very long Day 3, with a sizeable lead against Artur Rudziankov. The final table of play is described like this on WSOP's website: ‘When play resumed today, Luca was a three-to-one chip leader. Rudziankov battled back, winning an all in and even getting Luca to be all in for his tournament life. Luca survived that all in and eventually came back to win the tournament. A well played heads up battle by both players.'
