This event drew a field of 454 entries, generating a $2,133,800 prize pool. Due to the turbo format, a winner was crowned already in the evening on Day 2. Kevin MacPhee, who is no stranger to turbo structured events, received his first gold bracelet and $490,800 for his first-place finish.

"I am pretty used to the format. I play a lot of turbos online. I use my push fold calculators very methodically when I play online, so for me I feel like it's a pretty good event, said MacPhee about the turbo event.

This was the third turbo event of the 2015 World Series of Poker. The other two turbos were $1,000 buy-ins and one of them was Hyper-Hold'em, which featured 20 minute levels. This event had 30 minutes levels on Day 1 and 40 minute levels on Day 2. A normal WSOP event has 60 minute levels.

Agree, he is a frequent cash finisher to some extent and many articles mentions him on this site - I was surprised too that he never won a bracelet before.
