PokerStars: WCOOP To Host $51,000 buy-in Super High Roller!

On Thursday last week, PokerStars Blog revealed that this year's World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) will have a $51,000 buy-in Super High Roller event! There have been some $25,000 events in the past, but now WCOOP is going for the biggest ever with this upcoming Super High Roller event!

"Over the last few years we have seen the emergence of Super High Roller events at live events across the globe," said Team PokerStars Pro member Daniel Negreanu. "I think it only makes sense that the world's largest poker site is also the host of the largest buy-in online poker tournament ever. I'm excited to test my skills against the best of the best, online."

This year will mark the 14th consecutive WCOOP on PokerStars. In 2014, the series paid out more than $61,000,000! The $51k buy-in Super High Roller is scheduled for September 20, 2015, with a guaranteed prize pool of at least $1 million!

Another highlight will be the $10 million guaranteed Main Event ($5,200 buy-in) on September 27th. There are satellites for all 2015 WCOOP events for as little as $1!

lmfao a 51K buy-in tourney... perfectly fits my bankroll of ~$0.02. interesting to see such big buy-in tourneys moving to online scene. i wonder will we see something like $1mil buy-in online tourney someday, seriously doubt it, but who knows? will be funny to rail this one though...

I wonder how many entries this Super High Roller will attract. This is an unbelievable amount of money to put up just to play a poker tournament but there will be plenty doing so

Good luck to any mobsters who will be in this game Blink I think I am busy when it happens so not for me. Smile Unless I was very rich I would just have too many concerns about playing at these stakes.I have heard lots of players say they skype each other during sessions.
I doubt the field will be massive and a lot of high stakes players do know each other but then I am just too paranoid when it comes to the internet and money. Smile

certainly this is one of the best players in the world, if not the best, but as of today has many ballots to be the best player or be among the best for my taste is excellent, very aggressively, and much coordination, 10.

I am not sure I would ever trust this much of a money on Amaya to handle mine especially all for one fcukin buyin
Just doesn't make sense, the high roller live tournies is something 'cuz the live tournament circuit is a bit different in hierarchy than the online one, besides the game differs on some aspects too.

well i would have to sell everything i own to be able to play in this tournament
51000$ seriously ? i bet the field won't pass 25 players
maybe i am wrong , maybe there are many rich online poker players
i guess we will know after few days
i am sure gonna watch this tournament ..

I guarantee it will pass 25 players... there is a lot of satelites, and a lot poker millionare that will play this tournament... it will pass 100 players for sure Blink

I think i'm gonna skip this game, won't be enough players in it .
when you watch the high rollers playing, there is quite a few of them on stars, so i guess this game will have a $500,000.00 gtd that way they only need 10 players to reg, and i figure the money will hit $1.5 mil with about 30 players playing.

Daniel who? I think Negreanu has only won one high roller event which was years ago.

This would be great to be involved with if you do manage to satellite your way in for a few dollars as I expect you will be playing against some big names.Even if I was quite rich I would be quite nervous about spending $50k on one tourney......knowing my luck I would get a great first hand and get knocked out by the rivered nuts. Smile

i guess if i somehow managed to satellite into this tourney, 1st thing on my mind would be to take T-money asap and party all night long. now if i wasn't allowed that- i guess that would be some experience. probably i would be sweating big time before attempting a bluff.

in most, if not even in all satelites for this event, you cannot take tournament money, but you must play... and I think that is very smart, because 85% of players would take tournament money instead of ticket, and tournament wouldnt pass 10 players...

thats actually not true, unless it says that you can't unregister from the target event, then you can take the the tourney dollars.
usually step sat's you can,t unreg
VPP sat's you also can't
or sat's to live events you can't
most cash sat's you can.
