The third bracelet winner from England of the 2015 WSOP was crowned on Sunday. Gerald Ringe, a real estate investor and businessman who routinely plays in high-stakes mixed game formats, topped a field of 547 entries in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better event to claim his first gold bracelet and $198,888.
Ringe destroyed his final two opponents in about 35 minutes on the final table. He admitted to WSOP reporters that the deck treated him very well in the final stages of the tournament.
"Whatever I needed today, I managed to catch it," Ringe said afterward. "Even when it looked like my opponent would scoop a big pot, I caught the perfect card and managed to split the pot. Everything went right today."
