 Earlier this year we reported that Chinese celebrity Guo Meimei had been arrested for running an illegal casino operation. Meimei, who first gained notoriety in 2011 when she was rumoured to be the commercial general manager for the Chinese Red Cross and posed in pictures with expensive cars and designer bags, was facing up to 10 years in prison for her crime but got away with half of that when she received her sentence last week. In addition, she was fined 50,000 yuan (approximately $7,800).

I am not really sure what to make of the story,I know in China you can be executed for some crimes so is 5 years a good result or quite severe for a gambling offense?
As for a charity director/manager being paid a fortune that seems to be quite usual these days where big charity is just a business now and in the UK the charity bosses are quite often paid massive wages.

| The only difference between legal casino operation and illegal is that government doesn't take a cut, its all BS, all governments in the world are legal mafia, working the law in heir favor and bringing new laws that make all heir illegal operations legal, as long as they get a cut, they would tolerate just about anything, from pedophiles facking little children to big bank`s faking the entire country, if u want an honest opinion, the fault lies with the people and their tolerance, as long as they have their benefits and two vacation a year, its all good.

| well there's a lot of truth in SBER's words, government does look like mafia very often, but hey like with any mafia if you don't do what they say you are in trouble- with government at least you are not getting a bullet in to the head, and often enough if you do share you illegal income with the "right dudes" you can get away with nothing more but just a hefty fine.

| Lol see when you have to play poker money can be a huge factor and can lead you to do some stupid things, sad for her as her reputation is destroyed now you cannot do some bad shit, though i have some reservations about whether it has been illegal or not, it could have been a set up or something like that it could have been just a small party blown out of proportion by the authorities, should just have been a fine and finished here rather than prison for her!

Not sure how do we get from the government to the pedos by just under two sentences but one thing for sure SBEP does not like paying his taxes.

| I have never met a man or a woman thus far who likes to pay tax`s, except u bowie, marinate on this for a while, THERE IS NO POLITICAL SOLUTION TO A HUMAN PROBLEM, that is, if u can open your mind to different things other then your left or right party propaganda, how do i know u r into politics, from that 1 sentence post reply to heskor argument, coz only a brain damage person and politician can like paying tax`s, the brain damage coz he/she doesn't know better, the politician coz its the way he funds hes luxurious life, and the rest of u r to dumb to comprehend that they are literally living on your back`s.

| i love paying taxes- i mean lets think about this for a while... i clean toilets 4h a day, shave balls on the streets for 4h more... earn my dollaros doing all the hard work and then i have to share my money with some dudes because... well just because. what's not to love about this situation...

Your taxes are paying for the roads, hospitals, bridges, policemen etc. among other things. I have zero problem paying my fair share to The Man if it's been spent in a way which could benefit me and many others too.
