Despite the massive buy-in of $51,000, 46 people from all over the globe entered the 2015 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Super High Roller. The tournament, which is the biggest buy-in event in online poker history, concluded with eight players after several hours of play on Sunday.
Canadian pro Mike "Timex McDonald will bring the largest stack to today's final table with 237,712 in chips. McDonald can thank the poker gods for surviving Day 1, because at one point he was was all in for his tournament life holding A5 against the AK of 2014 WCOOP Main Event champion Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz.
McDonald was only 1 card from elimination when his three-outer turned up on the river. Holz was left with about 26k and "Timex" chipped up to 140k! However, Holz didn't only manage to get over the "badbeat" but also he return for today's final table with 145k in chips!
Two of the remaining eight players on the final table (resumes at 18:30 CET with blinds and antes at 1k/2k/250) won't receive a share of the $2.3 million prize pool. A minimum cash is worth $126,500 and the last man standing is set to take home $851,000 plus a gold and diamond bracelet!
