WCOOP Super High Roller: Mike "Timex" McDonald Leads Final 8

Despite the massive buy-in of $51,000, 46 people from all over the globe entered the 2015 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Super High Roller. The tournament, which is the biggest buy-in event in online poker history, concluded with eight players after several hours of play on Sunday.

Canadian pro Mike "Timex McDonald will bring the largest stack to today's final table with 237,712 in chips. McDonald can thank the poker gods for surviving Day 1, because at one point he was was all in for his tournament life holding ASpade5Spade against the ADiamondKClub of 2014 WCOOP Main Event champion Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz.

McDonald was only 1 card from elimination when his three-outer turned up on the river. Holz was left with about 26k and "Timex" chipped up to 140k! However, Holz didn't only manage to get over the "badbeat" but also he return for today's final table with 145k in chips!

Two of the remaining eight players on the final table (resumes at 18:30 CET with blinds and antes at 1k/2k/250) won't receive a share of the $2.3 million prize pool. A minimum cash is worth $126,500 and the last man standing is set to take home $851,000 plus a gold and diamond bracelet!

I was looking at the odds that pokerstars provided for this tourney and I feel slightly cheated that a lot of the big names who were apparently playing did not turn up to play.These were big names like Elky,Moorman,Bonomo and Galfond,it could be argued that the tourney was hyped up.
It would be nice to know who some of the other players actually are but Timex is definitely someone to fear at the final table.I read that Nopaleva is an unknown player who qualified via a 25kFPP satellite so that would be a good story if he won.
I feel for the 2 players who are going to be going home empty handed if only the top 6 are to be paid!!

I placed 5$ bet on Timex... hope he will win...

phuck timex... I wanted to ship 35$ on ben when they were giving 5x offer, and I just couldnt... I set up evrything to place a bet, and I was only one click away, and than I decided to minimize it and watch little longer, and if he get more chips, I will place bet, but I missed out and they close betting :S
