Boris Becker, a former tennis world number one, is partypoker's newest Ambassador! To celebrate, partypoker is launching a special tennis-themed promotion, starting on 5th December, giving players the chance to play in four $5,000 freerolls with the overall winner playing Boris live, heads up in Germany for up to $25,000!

Boris Becker, six-time major singles winner, said: "I am equally competitive at the poker table as I was on the tennis court, so I'm really excited to be partnering with partypoker and taking on players around the world. I learnt to play poker a long time ago; it's a game of skill and perseverance, so I'm hoping to use my experience on the tennis court to my advantage. partypoker has some world class tournaments coming up and I look forward to playing online as well as live at the partypoker MILLIONS in April, so see you there!"

Tom Waters, Group Head at partypoker said: "It's great to have Boris on board, as he is one of Germany's, and indeed the world's most notable sportsmen. Boris' mental strength and desire to win will make him a tough competitor at the poker table, and I'm sure he'll test our players as part of the partypoker Tennis Missions promotion! We look to expand our poker offering in Germany for 2017 and I am thrilled that Boris will be our ambassador in this market."

Alongside Boris Becker, poker professional Jan Jachtmann will join the partypoker team as a sponsored pro. With over $1,500,000 in live career earnings Jan will be playing the £6,000,000 guaranteed partypoker MILLIONS in April at Dusk Till Dawn in February plus attend global live events in 2017.

partypoker sponsored pro Jan Jachtmann said: "It is with great pleasure that I join the partypoker team as a their newest sponsored pro. I most enjoy playing Omaha after my WSOP PLO bracelet win so look forward to playing this more online. I have watched partypoker grow in 2016 and am ready for 2017 where together we will expand the German online and live market for players."

We should all welcome boris to partypoker. It's about time they signed up an ex tennis player, just like....... on hang on a minute..... other people have signed up professional tennis and football (that's soccer to you) players, but hey he's a famous ex tennis player so that must carry some value. And he's a coach too! Hey and he can play poker, which is a start.

I cant really understand what they are winning with all these ambassadors.
One more wearing their tshrit, wont bring them the money they have spent,
for that sign up i think. But i may be wrong.

Interesting promotion but you have to make a deposit to get the first achievement of the mission ... in particular for not having as deposit, I can not play.

This is the dream job, in my opinion. To be paid to play Poker and to travel the world is phenomenal. I have always liked Boris Becker so i wish him all the best in this new venture

I dont think they are paying the specific player to play poker.
Like they are not doing with so many others, that have no clue at all with the game.
They are just the window front. But in some stores, its just even a waste of time looking
at them Smile

the better/bigger news is that they signed Sam Trickett

Nice! I know he has been a poker player for a long time and he's one of my favourite all time tennis player too. I used to play top spin 4 online on my xbox 360 and his character was great he was so fun to play with! Amazing serves, huge power, good volleys great forehand and backhand too... Smile

I hope he does well as a poker ambassador. I know he still coaches tennis players.

Boris Becker! I still remember the best years of his career. He and his rivals, John McEnroe, Stefan Edberg, Ivan Lendl, Jim Courier, Michael Chang and Pete Sampras established themselves as the dominant force decades ago. Time passes by so quickly.

i think he will be asking for 100$ from each of us this christmas...he is officially declared bankrupt

I have heard yesterday, that Boris was bankrupt in the UK, but it was nice to read, that he have a new contract Blink But some years ago he was a ambassador from Poker Stars, so i think he changed the team like a football player Big Smile
 TheMachineQC22/06/2017 17:36:21 GMT
Boris Becker still coaches pro tennis players right? It is pretty surprising to find out that he has money problems I thought he was a wealthy guy. But maybe he spends more than he earns Smile And Maybe pro tennis players don't pay their teams as much as I thought they did.

Anyways he was a good volley guy and a good server so I forgive him for being a bad business man Big Smile
 dule-vu23/06/2017 00:36:46 GMT
I think that his statement after decision was that he ofcourse have money to pay,but problem is that he wanted more time and that he would pay that bank credit, but judge didnt want to hear anything about it!thats his words!he also said, that everybody know how much earned in life and that this credit wouldnt be problem and that properties that he own worth more then this credit!
 Robbo199023/06/2017 01:39:54 GMT
he had 1month left to pay and wanted to re-mortgage a house to pay it - he might be asset rich but didnt pay anything during the 2 years towards the loan....bankruptcy though is more of a protection
 vaci3823/06/2017 16:32:21 GMT
Now after bankruptcy for Boris Becker what to think of all of us who playing at party poker that we will have a similar destiny Big Smile Big Smile luckily I play only a free roll tournament so I can not bankroth Smile I wanted to say that when they signed agreements with known personalities this does not mean that party poker will benefit from that deal It may be negative for them Big Smile
 dule-vu25/06/2017 12:22:41 GMT
he have some many rich friend and probably he will find money, not problem for him or he will just sell his properties and everything will finish!he will earn as ambassador at party poker and will be coach to some players and thats enough to earn money again!
 Tony_MON7ANA25/06/2017 16:35:43 GMT
Boris Becker! I bet a world-famous tennis superstar like Boris Becker has never had any problem getting gorgeous girls and women. What is his current marital status? Single? Divorced? Married? Separated? Does he have kids of his own?
 dule-vu26/06/2017 12:31:04 GMT
he had two wifes and this was long time ago!I think that one of them took half of his money after divorce,so you can see when this problem started!but he can earn easy this amount that he need to pay to bank!who know how much did djokovic give him to be his coach!he didnt work for peanuts!
 Tony_MON7ANA26/06/2017 16:36:32 GMT
Thanks for the information, dule-vu.
Boris Becker could be asset-rich but cash-poor. It seems that a series of relationship break-ups and untimely investments are partly to blame for his insolvency.
