Tony G Challenges UK Leader Nigel Farage To €1 Million Brexit Bet

Tags: European Union, Nigel Farage, Tony G, United Kingdom.
Posted on 23 June 2016 by "T".

Former poker pro Antanas "Tony G" Guoga challenged British politician Nigel Farage to a €1 million bet on whether the United Kingdom will stay in the European Union or leave. Polls of recent weeks have shown that the opinion of the public over "Brexit" is divided, with results showing 50-50 who are for and against the UK leaving the EU.

Guoga is so convinced that more than half of the Brits will vote Remain in the EU referendum this June 23 that he is willing to risk €1 million of his own money.

"I am so confident that the British people will do the right thing and vote to remain in the EU that I offer a €1 million charity bet to you on Leave!", Guoga said.

If Farage accepts and the Leave campaign wins, Guoga will donate the €1 million to Farage's charity of choice, and vice versa.

At the moment, Guoga's wager offer has gone completely unnoticed by Farage.

After seeing the referendum results this morning, i wonder if Farage took up this offer. It would be nice to see a charity benefiting from this monumental decision made by the UK public

Brexhit, what is next? China will join European union because suddenly they changed the laws that come close to human right violation + every Chinese cafe will be renovated with a transgender smoke-free vegetarian toilet, simply because of the EUs policies. The market blows wide open and European grandfathers can make a nice buck as babysitter in China. Hell they can even learn them to play a game of chess while there parents make some dineros in this new stable growing economy.

next = EU falling apart.
every politician who now says "we have to be hard now and treat england like everyone else outside of EU " lost his mind, because most EU states are somehow industrial connected to england.
im surprised its been england and not one of the eastern nations who leaves the EU as first.
i can understand the engl peeps. sometimes i also feel like being ruled by a alien race sitting in bruxelles. the idea was great but the way was wrong.
the main reason why england left EU isnt a EU but a english problem imo. i doubt the poor people in england wiill have more money now. and who knows....great britain might turn into little britain if scotland and n. ireland stay in the EU.

Bookies made Remain the odds-on favorite, but vote Leave won. Although there is no evidence that the betting was deliberately manipulated by big money, the predictive power of the bookies’ referendum odds will be severely criticized.

We ll I think the people of the UK will be disappointed when they ll see whet the Brexit brings them...

Pound sterling drops vs Euro and dollar ( 10 % at the moment and I expect it to loose more) which
means all the imported goods will be more expensive (think of the proce of cars, electronics,...)

They still have to follow the rules of Europe if they wanne trade with the EU (hygiene and quality standards, ....) but they will not be at the table anymore when new standars are made....

I think most voters for the Brexit did not think a bit further and were blinded by the imigration problems in the UK. But hey they voted democratically....

Immigration is a smoke screen. Read what the Lisbon treaty says. See what the EU wants to do. See why many other countries want to join the EU. Who wants to pay big bucks to get told what to do? Would you? It's not a worry about security, the issue of security exists whether in or out of EU..... Just look at France, Germany, Belgium, USA, Bali etc. It's not a worry about immigration... UK has plenty of immigration issues without EU immigration. It's not about the value of the pound..... It fluctuates all the time and will become stronger ....... Italy, France, Holland all want to have their own referendum to leave EU. Why? The answer is simple...... Who wants someone else telling them what to do, how to do it and when to do it? Crikey.... We all complain when pokerstars amalgamated with FTP and makes up play a certain way...... Why would we want our countries run the same way?

UK will become stronger. We are strong already....... That's why everyone is worried and panicking about UK leaving the EU....that's why other EU countries stock markets have plummeted in value, some more than the UK today... It's fear of what will come next.
I say don't fear..... Take steps to take control.... Cos after all, that's what UK has voted for ..... To be in control of its own destiny.

Rule Britannia!

Rule Britannia!

like i said in my prevous post, i understand it: EU sucks at some point and only the rich benefit.
still...saying: "now we are stronger" sounds like like if the romanium imperium was saying: who the fuck needs the slaves, the hispanic or thracia, we can do it on our own way better" Big Smile thats ridiculous.
germany, france and britain benefit most from EU !
bring some facts please, why you think so.
if the EU stays hard, like they did with russia, your kinda fooked up imo....i do not hope though.
the EU needed a "hello, wake up, you cant continue this way" but that england did it this way is like a owngoal.
you only benefit if the EU falls apart, else, so far the only one is russia who benefits.

Ashamed to be British

------------
Official breaking news:
"I voted leave because this butchers has closed after 134 years"
That is not because of the EU, that's because you are all shopping at the supermarkets you dumb fucks.

------------
France say they should now renegotiate the border controls they agree. Meaning 'lets let all the camps clear as all the immigrants go to Britain, muwhahahahahah"
Never saw that coming...
*palms forehead"

You've done messed up brits.
The craziest part of the story is that the older voters were mainly for brexit while the younger ones were for staying in the EU.
These old fuckers will pass away soon(hopefully) and leave the young generation to face the consequences.
Sick as a parrot. Disagree

IQA...... That's really no way to talk about the officials within the EU, the European Council and the European Parliament.

What has taken place is democracy. It would also appear to be a stronger democratic result than the outcome of every general election that has taken place in living memory..... Usually the winner only has 40(ish) percent of the vote and we all stick with that!

See the opportunity to make Britain great again, rather than some agency subsidising smaller agencies to squander money trying to become wealthier. The end of the world is not nigh. The start of a new exciting world of opportunity may have just started.
 pinotte26/06/2016 15:56:49 GMT
General election are for a period of time i don't know how long in UK but if you are not satisfied of the elected government then in the next election you could just vote for another one.

However in this referendum there is no come back it is just over. Now both party will have to agree about the terms of this separation.

It is just after these négociations that you will see the good and the bad of this divorce.

I just wish that both side will be satisfied of the result for the economy of both.

Good luck to all. Worship Worship

in my country people to say until we receive in the European Union , the same European Union will fall apart , waiting for many years to take us I do not believe that we ever receive in the EU , they say we have to change the name of the state , the people here will never accept change the name of the state Angry

I was a little surprised to read some of the comments in this thread, particularly from a member who's always seemed fairly level-headed and capable of intelligent discourse.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, other than possibly like the rest of the humanity who wonders what effect this will have in an already unstable world. Not that the world has ever been particularly "stable".

I asked a distant relation, born and still residing in England, what he thought of Brexit. He responded:

On balance we feel that the UK has made the right decision given the mantra of the EU --'ever closer union'.

The Uk joined in 1972 what was ostensibly a free trade area but there was already the hidden agenda of moving to a federal state. Hence there is now a European National Anthem, flag and a [flawed]currency, which thankfully the UK did not sign up to.

Of course the Schumann Plan in around 1948 of bringing France and Germany closer together was laudable , but........ !!

Sadly confederations within the various European tribes have not proved to be viable eg Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia.

The other reason why we voted to leave is the graft and corruption within the EU. The accounts have never been audited and the arrogance of the non-accountable Commission headed by Junker is incredible.

To quote from the musical Chicago, 'They had it coming'.

As you probably know, our Parliament is no longer sovreign and must abide by all laws introduced by the unelected European Commission. The only democratically elected body is the European Parliament which is just a talking shop with no powers. However it is a gravy train for the hundreds of its members.

Our Supreme Court is no longer the final arbiter; it is now subservient to the European Court in Luxembourg.

I bet you wish you had never asked the question now, but anyway you can see why we voted to Brexit..

Naturally it is a momentous decision for the UK and will have many economic and political consequences [not all favourable of course], but we feel it is a price worth paying to regain our independence.

Admittedly, this man is old. He is not, however, in any way, racist or dumb.

Thought it might be of interest to some as to why one individual voted Brexit.

What a crazy bet, ok it was a charity bet but Tony G lost a lot of money because Great Britain are leaving the EU. We saw it often in the last time, that poker pros are betting high outside from the poker business. Perhaps they need more action Big Smile
