ONE DROPTM, one of the world's leading organizations dedicated to sustainable access to safe water, has just announced that the Big One for One Drop (€1 million buy-in) will return this year as a part of a 5-day high stakes cash game tournament in Monaco.

Casino de-Monte-Carlo will host the event named 'Monte-Carlo One Drop Extravaganza' from October 13-17, 2016. The €1,000,000 Big One for One Drop Invitational will only be open to businessmen, philanthropic, and celebrity recreational players.

"I am pleased that Monaco has been chosen to host the 2016 edition of The Big One for One Drop, one of the most innovative charity events," said Prince Albert II of Monaco.  "After only two editions, The Big One for One Drop has raised more than $10 million for water, a cause that I hold particularly dear. I wish an even greater success to the third edition of The Big One."

"From the beginning, we knew that The Big One for One Drop was a unique event," said One Drop Founder, Guy Laliberté. "This year, by shifting the focus to recreational players, we're looking to bring fun and innovation to charitable giving. We believe the events in Monaco will attract high net-worth individuals from across the globe to enjoy the game, the networking opportunities and the incredible VIP experiences only available in one of the world's most iconic settings."

What a great place to go and play poker. Monte Carlo must be one of the most glamorous places on Earth. It will be interesting to see how many entries this mega event gets

Wait let me check in my handbag, searching, searching, Hey where is my million?
Too bad, forgot it at home, can't play this one.

What I am wondering is how much players will be participating in this awesome tournament?

I have been in Monte Carlo ones and it is very funny that some corners on the streets have this white and red blocks that are always on the edge of a racing track. Didn't went to the casino though. Also there was no race at that moment.

Hats off to Guy Laliberté's generosity.
I think Laliberté's priority is to raise as much money as he can for One Drop Foundation. He also wants to create a fun and comfortable atmosphere for non-professional players where they are not under the imminent threat of being trounced by seasoned professionals.

Not sure why this self appointed prince of this miniature tax-evasion paradise considers water as a good cause, since soon after the climate change hits hard water will be practicaly everywhere, but who cares, right?
After all throwing a really-really good charity party cost upwards of a good six figures sum so they only have to raise a little bit more than that '4 the cause' to make it worth...

I assume this will be rake free?

I am running at about 6500% ROI on rake free tournaments on a poker site! (details will be sent to qualified investors)

Anyone want to stake me, my usual not to be missed, never to be repeated offer.

1,200,000 mob points gets you 1 Euro - 999,998 left to sell, hurry while stocks last.

If I could scrape together a million mob points I'd probably play this myself and not wasting them to stake somebody - sorry. Blink

I think it is more like 120,000,000 mob points might need to go halves with someone?

hooray for the big one for one drop and it's exceptionally wise move to move to monte carlo, surely they could have founded even better places to move, say one of the secluded, peaceful and democratic villages of north korea, where they would be treated by the warmth of local countrymen and even get some free carrots and beets.
