The 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event Championship is down to about 800 players after Day 3 concluded a few hours ago. Belgian poker pro Kenny Hallaaert (picture) bagged up 1.7 million and the chip lead, and not far behind him are some well-known faces - including Atonio "The Magician" Esfandiari with 1.3 million, Shaun Deeb with 1.2 million and Eugene Katchalov 1.2 million.

There are no former Main Event winners left in the competition as, for example, 14-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth and reigning champion Joe McKeehen both fell on Day 3, which started with 2,186 players.

Other bracelet who were eliminated during Day 3 include David Chiu, Adrian Mateos, David Benyamine, Vanessa Selbst, David Williams, Scott Seiver, Ted Forrest, Bertrand Grospellier, Tony Dunst, and Brandon Shack-Harris.

Day 4 will continue on Friday at noon local time. All remaining players are guaranteed to take home $16,007 - with their eyes on the world champion title and $8 million in prize money!

Check back on Monday morning for another brief update on the Main Event.

Congratulations to all remaining players for a guaranteed minimum payout of over $16k.
Let's see if any of these players with over 1 million in chips at the end of Day 3 can sustain his chip lead and get to the final table.
Good luck, everyone.

I am very sorry but the news is not up to date. Big Smile Big Smile

I am on the WSOP site in the chips count for the day four and the Belgian is in 6th. position with 1.6 millions and the leader is Maria Ho with 2 millions.

I don't know where these informations are coming from but Antonio Esfandiari is in 81st place with 705K.

However the day four is started and this is what i am reporting.
