EPT Barcelona: €27 Satellite Qualifier Wins The Main Event For €1,122,800

The final day of the EPT Barcelona Main Event saw the return of seven players instead of six players (it was supposed to be a six-handed final table but play went on longer than expected on Day 5). There weren't any big stars among the finalists, though, it was still it an exciting final table to follow as it was the biggest EPT Main Event ever (1,785 entries) with a massive prize pool at stake (€8,925,000)!

After about 11 hours of play on Day 6, a 21-year-old Polish player named Sebastian Malec was the last man standing after sending Uri Reichenstein packing in second place for €807k. Malec won his entry for the record €5,300 Main Event via a cheap online satellite. We can only imagine how good it must feel to have bested such a big field (with so many great poker players) to win €1,122,800 from just a €27 investment!

Many congratulations to Sebastian Malec on winning this event and the 1,122,800 first prize. To win this having qualified for just 27 euro is quite phenomenal and it must be one heck of a feeling to do so

Over €1 million return on such a tiny investment! Congratulations, Sebastian!
If I were him I would head straight to blackjack or roulette table with €50k in my pocket.

I am curious to know how much tax he has to pay on his gambling winnings.

yeah kinda great return on investment i must admit, one that would seriously challenge warren buffet and the rest of money gurus. however to my huge surprise and disappointment mr. Harcharan Dogra Dogra hasn't managed to win this one, i mean Harcharan Dogra Dogra was by far the best player if we take into account his exotic name.
