Douglas "WCGRider" Polk admitted in a video blog a week ago, March 8 Wednesday, that when he was just starting out in the world of pro poker, he idolized Tom Dwan, who was once considered by many as one of the most-feared online cash game players in the world.
However, these days, he said he is no longer a big fan.
In the video blog, the 28-year-old Polk said that Dwan, who goes by the online nickname “durrrr”, might have an enormous outstanding debt to one of the world’s most successful sports bettors.
Polk said that there’s strong “evidence” pointing Dwan as the individual who owes Haralabos Voulgaris a ‘seven-figure’ amount of money. Last year, Voulgaris revealed that a player in the high-stakes poker community has not kept his end of the bargain. At that time, he wouldn’t say the name.
But now, the speculation has increased even more after Voulgaris wrote last Tuesday on his Twitter feed:
Polk said Voulgaris basically “tweeted a ‘where the f—k is my money?’ statement”.
Last month, another poker player, Dan “jungleman” Cates said that Dwan ‘gambled beyond his means’. Cates has been insisting that Dwan recommence their long-dormant “Durrrr Challenge” that would allow Cates to get $1.5 million from a side bet (assuming that Dwan did not show up and beat him in the challenge). Polk said that Cates was “scammed” by Dwan.

Thanks to TV, Tom Dwan instantly became a poker legend, in which the exposure at the time was able to capture some of his epic hands that featured some of the most brazen bluffs in cash game poker history.
