Tom Dwan's First Live Tourney Cash Since 2014 |

 Tom Dwan, best known as "durrrr" at Full Tilt's high-stakes tables before Black Friday, made a rare appearance in a live poker tournament last weekend when he entered the HK$500,000 (approx. US $64,000) Super High Roller of the 2017 Macau Billionaire Poker (MBP) Spring Challenge.
The tournament saw a field of 12 players, including Dwan, German high-stakes expert Philipp Gruissem and Belarusian poker pro Mikita Badziakouski. Dwan and Badziakouski eventually played heads-up for the title. In the final hand, Dwan found himself all in with K 3 against the A K of Badziakouski and the board ran out Q 10A42 to give Badziakouski the title and the first-place prize of approximately US$420,000. Dwan received US$275,000 for his second place finish.
According to pokernews.com, this was Dwan's first live cash since February 2014 when he finished 6th in the A$250,000 Challenge at the Aussie Millions. There have been a lot of talk about Dwan as of late. Some claim that he owes people millions of dollars and is hiding under a rock to avoid paying off his debts while others, including Phil Hellmuth in a recent interview, believe that he's doing extremly well for himself in Macau, playing cash games where several million dollars change owners in a single session.

| Macau is really not the best place to hide IMO, any 'former friend' of his could just give 10k to the local triads and next day boom, no more debt problem or simply no more problem at all...

| This is big money that all of yse would be very happy to win some day, for such a famous players like tom dwan I think this is not super money, but if he played this tournament he did decide that he wants to take this money so maybe it is big even to him?

If what you say is true then he is not listening to his fathers advice.

If he owe anywhere near what some people thinks he does then he is clearly not prospering.
Hmm well if he is really just a donk then he was one very lucky donk who was on one hell of a heater in the past.

Dunno, but I think more pro poker players live their lives with borrowed money than we know about. Yeah, some of them a dgen gamblers but some of them just seeing as a credit opportunity with less juice than taking money from the banks...

| well dwan was realy good, maybe the best in his time...but poker is game where you must improve all the time... if you dont improve, there will be better players than you... and I think dwan just didnt evolved his game to be better, and end up in huge downswing...

| The super aggressive player is (used to be) one of the most profitable types of players. But it is very important even for winning players to diligently analyze the game so that they are prepared to make adjustments to their playing style.

good for you. now if you can please stop saying congrats to whoever wins a poker tournament like they will see your post and be grateful for you hollow support. a problem which i have said to you before, unfortunately i never plan to travel to japan for numerous reasons, so cannot say it directly to your face
you want the reason why i downvoted this one? you are 'assuming' without saying that you are, that dwan is a losing player or that he still plays the way he did on tv. even if he did still play that way, the fact he just came second in a high roller shows that his style works

| I´ve heard nothing about Tom Dwan for a long time, but he was one of the best online highroller in the past at FT. And that he won in a live poker tournament after three years was nice, perhaps he tried more live games in the future

I don't think Tom "durrrr" Dwan plays a lot of live tournaments. He's always been mostly an online player and more improtantly a cash games player. I don't think anyone here on bankrollmob is good enough at poker to even judge Dwan's game. The guy is a wizard, give respect where it's due. And yeah just because he makes uber aggro moves doesn't mean he can't switch gears. Being a nit is easy anyone can do that.

actualy I agree with you in almoust anything... and if you are a nit, you are not for sure amoung best players... I agree that he WAS cash game specialist, and one of the best, if not the best at his time... also he was good at tournies... he had a couple of tournies won... but like I said in my prevous post, you must improve all the time... and when he was best, that time was long past...there are a lot of players now that are better than him... I am not saiying that he is bad... just wanna say that he didnt improved.... and that explains his debits...

i have used it twice, hardly cause to call it obsessive. either form of the words meaning is non linear so maybe you arent familiar with the term erratic? you blindly fail to see yourself trip over your own words, making things out of nothing just so you can use a fancy English word. please, you are the non normal one here, its simple to see in your English and behavior - you are making a big deal over a down vote because you say the same dribble each and every post, and then try and argue your way out of it - though i understand the Japanese culture of 'dieing by your own sword', however this time the honorable thing to do is to leave.
