2017 partypokerLIVE Millions Disk Till Dawn Main Event (£5,000 buy-in) drew a field of 1,240 players for a prize pool of £6,017,395. The final table of 8 included not less than 2 female players. Maria Lampropulos (Argentina) and Katie Swift (UK) started the final day of play in 3rd and 4th place.

Lampropulos had a good start and she was responsible for the first elimination (Neel Murthy) about 1 hour into the final table. Things didn't go as well for Swift though, as she was eliminated in 7th place just half an hour after Murthy exited the tournament.

Lampropulos was unstoppable once the final table was down to its last 4 players. The fact is that she eliminated her final 3 competitors! When heads-up play started, Lampropulos had 617 million in chips to Jacob Mulhern's 630 million. Lampropulos was open to discuss a deal but Mulhern wasn't interested because he was confident he could win the £1 million first-place prize.

Lampropulos had a decent chip lead when the final hand of the tournament occurred - about 2 hours after 1-on-1 battle started. Lampropulos raised to 20m and Mulhern re-raised to 50m. Lampropulos shoved her stack of 840m. Mulhern called with AHeartQClub and was up against KClubKSpade.

The flop came out 9Club6Spade3Heart and Lampropulos was still ahead. The 5Spade on the turn left Mulhern drawing for a 3-outer on the river. The 4Spade completed the board and Jacob Mulhern was out in second, probably with some regrets of not accepting a deal earlier on.

Lampropulos received the top prize of £1,000,000, which is her by far biggest tournament cash to date!

"It really feels like a magic moment I'm in right now," she told PokerNews after her win. "I'm a little tired after such a difficult final table, but tomorrow I'll realize what I did. He didn't want to make a deal. He was convinced that he could win. Perhaps because I am a woman and he didn't want to deal with a woman, but I trusted in my game, I just thought ‘let's play.'"

Final Table Payouts
Maria Lampropulos -1,000,000
Jacob Mulhern - 650,000
Jeremy Pantin - 450,000
Mateusz Rypulak - 320,000
Jon Spinks - 220,000
Stephen Chidwick - 150,000
Katie Swift - 100,000
Neel Murthy - 72,395

My most sincere congratulations go out to Maria Lampropoulos from Argentina for scooping a 7-figure payday. Her family, friends, and her boyfriend Ivan Luca, must be very happy for her!

Fantastic win for Maria, i like to see that woman won this tournament and beat a man who didn't want to do a deal with her for the 1st place prize, now he lost over 100,000 because of this, he was too confident in his skills and thought that he will beat woman easily, so I like that he lost,

Of course a very good prize to win, for your buy in of only 5000. A million always is
impressive.
It says she is from argentina but her name is greek all the way, probably leaving
or born there, who knows Smile

huge massive congratulations to Maria Lampropoulos for earning a cool million, that's more or less how i imagine an ideal woman, while i am emptying another bottle of vodka to get my brain cells into working mode, she is earning a million or two to support me in my quest of eternal wisdom...

Of course, maybe he overestimated his strength and mistakenly thought that a woman would play weaker than a man ... but most likely this day the skill and luck of Maria were stronger ... if a woman plays at the final table then her sex does not matter

This one was a win-win for feminists. Might be poker the only good sport around where they treat males and females equal. Not even chess doing that - they even has different rankings for each gender.

That´s a nice news, that a woman have won this big Party Poker Main Event and that two women sit at the final table. It was more intersting when not only male poke pros are playing these big live events and we saw a lot of good female poker players in the last years.

A win of a million pounds will certainly change the lives of the absolute majority of people and it's nice that such people are getting bigger and now maybe some women are inspired by the example of this woman and they start playing poker

So if she was dating with Mike Tyson or Floyd Mayweather she could be a boxing champion?

I had some free time the other day so I watched partypoker £6 million guaranteed tournament live stream from beginning to end. Maria Lampropoulos's performance at the final table was quite impressive.

It was the greatest success in terms of awards obtained by some Argentinian this triumph achieved by Maria Lampropulos. She is the bride of the crack Ivan Luca and evidently he had much to do this feat achieved by this girl.
