On July 5, Wednesday was truly a memorable day for Rulah Divine, who emerged triumphant on 2017 WSOP's Event #63: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em tournament, a 3-day event which started July 3, Monday at 11am.
The event attracted a player field of 1,750 participants and garnered a prize pool of $1,575,000. Rulah Divine knocked them all out to win his very first WSOP gold bracelet and a top prize of over a quarter million cash, worth $262,501, by far his largest cash in his WSOP career.
Rulah Divine, age 37, originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico but now lives in North Las Vegas, entered the tournament with just a $60 investment, as he actually won the seat in a WSOP.com qualifier. As a father of twins, this means his children will have more presents under their Christmas tree this December!
Surely we shall see more of Rulah Divine in the future. He said he'll be playing the Main Event now as he wasn't certain before; however, this win does help boost his motivation and bankroll. His first call after he won was to his wife and according to him, she was "freaking out" after hearing the great news. He said this win does solidify everything he has been playing for ever since he was just six years old playing for dimes and nickels on his dad's bar.
