Victors of 2017 Poker Masters First 3 Events Win $900,000 Each!

The 2017 Poker Masters is scheduled from September 13 (Wednesday) to September 20 (Wednesday) at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Events 1 through 4 consists of a buy-in worth $50,000 each, while the final event #5 has a $100,000 buy-in.

So far, here are the results from the finished events.

September 13-14, 2017
Winner: Nick Schulman
Prize: $918,000
Runner-up: Matt Hyman

Event #2 50,000 NLHE
September 14-15, 2017
Winner: Steffen Sontheimer
Prize: $900,000
Runner-up: Fedor Holz

Event #3 50,000 NLHE
September 16-17, 2017
Winner: Bryn Kenney
Prize: $960,000
Runner-up: Erik Seidel

As for Event #4 (scheduled September 17-18, 2017), the current chip leader is three-time WSOP bracelet winner Doug Polk, and there are 7 players remaining in the final table. The emerging winner shall get a cash prize of $819,000!

Sontheimer is expected to be in the lead heading into Monday's $100,000 buy-in final event.

The player with the overall best results (biggest total earnings) throughout all 5 Poker Masters events (a total of four $50,000 buy-in tournaments with a $100,000 freeze out finale) shall be awarded The Poker Masters Purple JacketTM.

Congrats to the winners!
I just found out that each tournament runs with a new format, where the big blind posts a single ante for the table. All tournaments feature a 30-second shot clock for a player’s action. And each player is given three additional 60-second time banks per day. Interesting, isn't it?

The influence of online poker shows up here with the time banks. And stopping some guys for going into the tank for 10+ minutes repeatedly is never a bad thing. Not sure about the new ante thing thoo.

Some big buy ins there, but the prizes are also good, closing to a million each.
The time bank isnt a bad thing, since watching live tournaments,
we have seen some of them taking for ever to play.
But the time mentioned i think is not enough for a live tournament.
It should have been more than that.

These tournaments really do attract the creme de la creme of the poker world and the first three events reads like a poker hall of fame list. I look forward to seeing who wins the rest

I am in favor of a shot clock, but 30 seconds might be a bit short for some players.
The most prominent supporter of the shot clock has been Mike Sexton. The shot clock idea has been implemented in the World Poker Tour events. And I guess the World Series of Poker events will soon follow suit.

Some big names are in these tournaments and also like to see such good player eho is from past players like eric seidel, you can say he is like real history. Also not nust playing and no resulyd, no he still kmows how to win big money, even after youmg players changing the game.

I think its a nice mini series organized here, 4 tournaments with a 50k buy in culminated by a 100k buyin event, lots of big names and almost a million for the winner in the 4 smaller buyin tourneys... not sure about the 100k one but surely over a million for the winner to be shelled out

This is what I told in the other topic. Above a certain treshold for buy-ins you always kinda find the same players at these tournaments.
