For those who have known and heard of Phil Hellmuth, people will mostly remember him via his nickname Poker Brat because of his temperamental personality, usually melting down at times when he loses huge amounts in high-stakes poker games.
A week ago, he posted in his Instagram account what he considered as his worst loss ever since the past three years. He wrote, "Lost $95,000 in a $100-$200 NoLimHold'em game tonight. Def my worst loss (loss over blinds 95,000/200) since May, 2016. Sadly, I can remember almost every hand and it's depressing me!"
In the picture with him was three-time NBA champion Draymond Green, who he said in his post, "At least this guy won, and made me smile!" Most likely it was thanks to the NBA player winning some rounds that Hellmuth didn't throw a tantrum like he always does when losing.
It was revealed before that the 54-year-old poker pro had been teaching Green some poker strategies, and it sure appears to be paying off quite well. While it's not entirely clear if the Golden State Warriors power forward is an avid poker player or just a fan, it sure looks like he's doing pretty well playing the game, and a high roller game session at that, complete with elite players and trying to best them in the $100/$200 stakes.
He posted another picture with the basketball star, saying, "was feeling a little bit tortured the last few hours... but getting my gratefulness back. Hate losing, Hate losing, but happy that my boys won."
