A massive field of 1,087 players turned up for the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Cherokee $1,700 Main Event. A total prize pool of $1.6 million was up for grabs with 117 paid places. Among the notable players who cashed were Greg Raymer, Jared Jaffee, Allen Kessler and Calvin Anderson.

The top prize of $300,536 went to 40-year-old Pennsylvanian poker pro Jonas Wezler. This was Wezler's biggest cash to date and he now has over $1 million in live tournament earnings! It was also his second win of a WSOPC event, after winning a $345 buy-in event at Harrah's Chester in 2011.

"I never think I'm gonna win," Wexler told WSOP reporters after the victory. "I've been playing for so long and just felt like I don't break through. I try not to think about the end result either, but in my mind I always think something shitty is gonna happen. Fortunately today I did some shitty things to other people."

Final Table Results:

1. Jonas Wexler Southampton, Pennsylvania $300,536 +  $1 million Global Casino Championship seat*
2. Phil Hernz Plantation, Florida $185,628
3. Spencer Champlin Scarborough, Maine $137,936
4. Steven Grybas Las Vegas, Nevada $103,749
5. Amy Patel Lilburn, Georgia $78,997
6. Andrew McIlvain Brentwood, Tennessee $60,866
7. Dennis Brand Sugar Land, Texas $47,444
8. Noah Shefrin -- $37,399
9. Aaron Gunn -- $29,807

*a 3-day tournament scheduled for August 6-8 at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, North Carolina. As the name suggest, 1 million dollars is guaranteed by the organizers.

Many congratulations to Jonas on winning this event and a very healthy first prize of over $300,000. It was particularly nice to see Greg Raymer cashing because watching him win the Main Event was a fantastic piece of television

well this is nice amount for first place for buy in of 1070 $ and to win 300 000 $!he had lot of players to beat, but everything was worth of it!we cant say that is cheap this buy in,but main prize is great!now we will see would he invest this winning on other live tournaments or he will take break!

nice reward for the 1700 USD invested. And the player field was a big one,
due to the low buy in probably.

With 117 places getting paid, you had 1 in 10 chances to get paid.
A bit of luck in your side and you could be in the money.
No information though on how much money the last paid position got.

It's nice to win a game of the WSOP circuit. True talent, for the winner of this game with a buy-in of $ 1,700. The number of players in this tournament was pretty big especially as this game took place in North Carolina, which is far away of Las Vegas. That means Americans love this game and i do not understand why they do not fight, to return in the online market. Congratulations to the final table players.

Yes i think too like some people say here in this thread that it is very good money to win for buyin at only 1700 dollars. Also it is interesting to read that winner say he always think something shitty is going to happen to him, it think it is because he not have good results for long times

This game was ok. A game of smart and talented people, in this game called hold'em texas poker. 1700 dollars is big for many players and that does not matter for them too much. It is good if you produce a lot compared to the investment. This is very important because the profit counts.
