A man from Perth has amazingly turned a $15 poker punt into a whopping $3.6 million win to claim what’s now called Australia’s biggest ever casino table jackpot.
The lucky player instantly became a millionaire when he managed to procure a royal flush with only a $15 side bet at Crown Perth Casino on Saturday (June 8) evening.
Royal Flush
In poker, a flush is a hand that is composed of five cards bearing the same suit.
A royal flush is the highest possible form of the flush, in sequential rank. The highest value straight flush involves the cards 10, J, Q, K, and Ace with all of them in the same suit.
Rare Jackpot from just a $15 Bet
The jackpot was from a A$15 (or US$10.40) bet, the biggest of 3 progressive side bet pots that gamblers can choose to pay in to while playing the casino’s poker tables games.
The winner, who asked to remain anonymous, has broken the record of the casino’s previous Texas Hold’em Poker progressive side bet win by nearly one million dollars, which was around A$2.7 million (US$1.88 million).
The previous Crown Perth casino record won by a gambler was $2.7 million, which happened back in September 2016 and it was also thanks to a royal flush.
Lonnie Bossi, Crown Perth chief operating officer said the winner has been celebrating for days since he won, “To have a record breaking $3.6 million won at Crown Perth is quite extraordinary. This is Australia’s biggest ever jackpot won on the tables and I am so excited to see that go off here. It is really pleasing that our local patrons don’t have to travel far to win big.”
