On Sunday, July 7, Day 2c of the 2019 WSOP $10,000 Main Event kicked off at 11am local time. Day 2c is composed of players who survived Day 1c.

2019 WSOP: Event #73: $10,000 NLHE MAIN EVENT

  • Schedule: July 3 to July 16, 2019
  • Venue: Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas
  • Buy-in: $10,000

Day 2c saw Julian Milliard as the chip leader of the pack who bagged 947,900 - an incredible feat for someone who started the day with only around 20 big blinds. He said, "I've had two crazy days. On Day 1, I was down to 4,000 chips and tripled with ace-nine vs ace-jack, and started today with 16,000. I then had ace-nine beat pocket tens and ran it up from there!"

Trailing right behind him is Vlastimil Pustina with 930,700 chips. Pustina said last year he busted about an hour before the bubble. This is his third visit at the WSOP and he's set on making a deep run after taking lessons from a poker coach, meditating, staying active and running good!

A notable highlight in Day 2c was that last year's Main Event champion and 888poker ambassador John Cynn got a healthy chip stack of 248,900 at the day's end. Former fellow Main Event champs who also bagged some chips include Scotty Nguyen (17,500), Johnny Chan (232,500), and Jim Bechtel (251,600).

Other notable players who survived include Bertrand Grospellier (428,000), Brandon Cantu (464,500), Calvin Anderson (459,400), Cliff Josephy (404,000), David Baker (418,700), Jeff Madsen (488,600), Kathy Liebert (555,000), Sam Greenwood (535,800), Tom Cannuli (667,000) and partypoker ambassadors Dzmitry Urbanovich (194,900) and Kevin Martin (63,700).

Those who didn't make it on Day 2c include 15-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, 7-time bracelet winner Men Nguyen, partypoker ambassador Fedor Holz, Patrik Antonius, and former Main Event champs Jerry Yang, Robert Varkonyi and Scott Blumstein.

Below is the list of End-of-Day Chip Counts, showing the top 20 spots for Day 2c:

2,880 Players Remain for Day 3
The 2019 WSOP Main Event is officially the second-biggest of all-time (in terms of the number of entries). There were 344 more new players registered at the start of the day, which brings that to a final total of 8,569 players who participated, after registration has closed at the beginning of Day 2c. 8,773 is the record number of entrants who joined in the WSOP Main Event back in 2006.

$80,548,600 prize pool
The $80,548,600 prize pool generated this 2019 is the second-biggest prize pool in WSOP history, with $10,000,000 awaiting the winner.

Below is a table showing the Top 5 Main Events of All Time based on Attendance:

This year's final table payout structure will see the top 9 finishers to take home at least a guaranteed $1 million cash prize.

Out of all those 8,569 players, around 2,000 of them were eliminated in Day 2c after the starting field of 4,008 was decimated to 1,793.

Joining them would be the 1,087 survivors of Day 2ab, which brings the total number of players returning for Day 3 to be 2,880.

Those who will make it through the Day 2ab and Day 2c flights shall then return for Day 3 on July 8, Monday at noon local time.

Stay tuned!

This Justin guy keep thinking that shoving A9 every time will help him out in the long run. I am not sure about that strategy though, but I am not the player who leading the pack on this day - he is, so there's that. No amount of coaching could help you beat lucky mofos like him...

So far I had saw and experience similar like that...winning card ,even crap card, could be winning card several time , sometimes just 1 tourney, sometimes whole day....phenomenon, I think..who could take advantage from that will get something Smile .

This is the life and fans of Patrick Antonius and Phil Hellmuth they will not see their idols at this tournament because they were eliminated. A very good and lucky game for Julian Milliard. The second largest game from a main tournament of the WSOP is a big success and players for the final table will not be disappointed.

Julian is of course now in the Leader chip, but it seems to me for a while ... because cooler poker players continue to participate in this tournament .... who will probably be able to change something and increase their stack the next day ... therefore it is important for Julian save your stack

Leaders change quickly because the number of chips it's not a huge one to the next places and poker is with ups and downs. We will see tomorrow what happened in this main event and let's see potential players who will reach the final table. There are very good players and it will be hard for them to win a special tournament.
