According to Asian Poker Tour and Resorts World, the largest buy-in tournament ever held in Asia will be played at Resorts World Manila's Genting Club on April 20 - one day before the APT Philippines Main Event begins.

The buy-in for the Super High Roller will be HKD$1,000,000 (USD$129,000) and big names such as Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan have already confirmed their participation. The organizers are expecting a field of around 25-30 players to take part in the tournament.

In February PokerStars announced that the Macau Millions Series has been postponed indefinitely, so the Super High Roller tournament in the Philippines might be a good alternative for many Macau high-stakes regulars.

APT (Asian Poker Tour) started yesterday at the Chinese gaming island Macau. The tournament will be played from 12th till 22nd August and it will include 15 events. The main event Day 1a will be played on 20th August, and Day 1b on 21st August. Because they have divided up Day 1 into two starting days one can assume that the crew behind the tournament expects many people to take part.

The most interesting event in APT will for sure be the celebrity tournament where all the money will go to charity. Lady Gaga, the artist with the mega hit "Poker Face" has been invited for this tournament. She has a gig in Macau on the 15th August and the crew behind APT really hopes she will show up, and maybe also show her "Poker Face"?

Another big name that has been invited to play in the celeb tournament is, Michael Phelps, the professional swimmer from USA who's considered to be the greatest swimmer of all time.
