WSOP 2013: Event #40 & #41

wsopTwo three-day event concluded today and U.S. players Jared Hamby and Steve Gross both won their first WSOP bracelets.

Event #40: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em gathered no less then 2,161 players and a total prize pool of $2,917,350. Out of all the entrants in this event, no previous bracelet winner made it to the final table. However, the final table did have an unusual amount of player representation from South America; 4th place Nicolas Fierro from Chile, 5th Joao Dorneles Neto from Brazil and on 7th place Richard Dubini from Argentina. The final table results below:

Event #41 $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six-Handed saw 400 players be seated and battle for the first prize of $488,817. The total prize pool was $1,880,000 which was to be paid, in descending amounts, to the top 42 finishers. Among the top 42 players in this event there were a few familiar faces; Daniel Negreanu finished on 34th place ($10,960), Bluff Magazine's 2006 Player of the Year and former Hollywood actor - Chad Brown left on 39th place ($9,306) and Freddy Deeb, whose WSOP career includes two bracelets and $3,913,750  in total WSOP & Circuit winnings, finished on place 16th ($12,896). The last man standing after three days was U.S. poker pro Steve Gross who earned the first prize and his first WSOP bracelet by beating UK's Salman Behbehani.
