This year at the WSOP, Phil Galfond now has a total of three bracelets to his name, after he won Event #60: $10,000 PLO Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship which had a player field of 237 entrants. Along with the bracelet and the title, he took home the first-place cash prize worth a whopping $567,788.

Phil Galfond, who plays online under the alias "OMGClayAiken", is a proud owner of two gold bracelets following his win of Event #29: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship on Monday night. The tournament drew 77 players who created a prize pool of $723,800 - of which Galfond received $224,665.

Event #52: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em (six handed) is one of the most prestigious events at the 44th annual World Series of Poker. The tournament attracted a field of 175 players, of which many were well-known poker pros!

The third and final day saw 18 players return to their seats and Germany's Max Lehmanski had the lead. Lehmanski eventually finished in 5th place and, after Stephen Chidwich and Dani Stern had been eliminated in 4th and 5th place, the heads-up battle for the coveted gold bracelet and the $1,205,324 first-place prize was between Phil Galfond and Steve Sung (both from the U.S. and 1 career WSOP bracelet each on the resume).

It ended up being a very thrilling (and long) quarterfinal between Phil Galfond and Ben Tollerene for the last ticket to the semifinals. The two poker pros, who live in the same apartment building in Vancouver and know each other very well, battled it out for over 14-hours and 4,341 hands until a winner had been crowned: Phil Galfond. Galfond will now face Daniel "jungleman / w00ki3z" Cates on Saturday. It will be very interesting to see who wins that battle!

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom's first week without a sponsor now is in the books and it can't be described as anything else than success. In fact, he ended up as the biggest winner online with a profit of impressive $859,582 - about $360k more than the second biggest winner, Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond.

Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond had not been playing on PokerStars since May, before the 2012 WSOP kicked off, until he made his long-awaited return on Monday. After a terrible losing streak last weekend, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom took a break at 16:00 on Monday. It didn't take long before people started speculating in whether or not the young swede had cleaned out his PokerStars account. But at 01:00 am on Tuesday he returned to the $50/$100 and $100/$200 Omaha tables and continued playing.

Things went much better for him then, and after about 3,600 hands against several regulars at the nosebleed tables he got away with a $560,000 profit. Most of the money came from Phil "MrSweets" Galfond, who lost about $350k that night.

"I need to work on my all-in game." Galfond wrote on his twitter yesterday.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has been running extremely good at PokerStars in the past few days. He has especially been doing well in heads-up matches (No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha) against Phil Galfond and Ashton Griffin.

In total Isildur1 has won $660,000 since Sunday and he's also one of PokerStars most successful players this year. Let's hope that his winning streak continues and that we soon get to watch some more thrilling battles at PokerStars nosebleed tables!

Last year Gus Hansen was losing a lot of money to Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond at the Omaha tables at Full Tilt Poker. But at the beginning of 2009 it has been a completely different story. Yesterday they could be found playing at their usual PLO tables at Full Tilt Poker and it was Gus Hansen who continued his winning streak in 2009.
