According to KSLA NEWS, a 91-year-old World War 2 veteran was robbed of his casino winnings on Thursday morning. Police said that two men followed the old man to a restroom, beat him up and robbed him of his winnings before running away from the scene. They said the victim managed to injure one of the men during the robbery.
After searching downtown, police found the men and were able to link them to the robbery. John Perkins (left), 39, and Gary Smith (right), 60, were arrested and charged with second-degree robbery. They were put behind bars in the Shreveport City Jail. The 91-year-old WWII veteran is now recovering in the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
