imo, you need to be tight, not too much of course, and as u said it's best if u sometimes mix your game that it would be harder for opponents to read you. Well in long run you will make profit playing tight agressive style, well works for me if i don't blow my bankroll in casino: ) as happened with my mansion ndb..that's why i like sites where there is no casino besides poker.

Abuse position as much as possible. Try not to be caught out of position and dont be afraid to fold if you think you're beat. Too many people still call bets or raises when they know they're beat >_>

Sounds like a great place to play, at least they aren't maniacs shoving all in pf with Ax/J4o,etc. You could play like Robin Hood and steel from them. If they fight back and your hand isn't what you would call a raise/reraise with, then fold and watch how they play. Keep an eye on there position and what they are playing with. Just remember if they are in the early pos raising, they have a pretty good starting hand. Learning from watching others is one of the best ways.

Not to tight, not to agressive

I believe that the best style is, as some already mentioned, tight agressive.
There are plenty websites from which you can download Starting Hands Chart. In my opinion that is a good way to start playing poker. You will learn from what position and which hands you could play. This will also help you (more or less) to "put" your opponents on hands - meaning what hand they may be holding.

Hi, i think you should look for a poker school site and read some stuff before you start going to the tables bet your own money, thats not the way of winning. You need to know how to play to know when you should or shouldnt bluff. I believe that, by this time, you never care about your position at the table, and this is one of the most important concepts in the game you ought to dominate if you want to win. I am no pro, i dont know anything, but, by the way you started out this forum, this is my advice to you: go read some things... Blink

You must play tight quite oftenly especially if you are an amateur player. Sometimes when you see that ppl on the table are also very tight you can steel blinnds in good positions.

I think for the beginner poker-player TAG is the way to do it, 10seater.
Cash, SNG, MTT, play TAG and try to learn the game.

Bankroll Management is the main factor. Without it you will NOT win.

SUCKOUTS FTW Big Smile

Ok i will answer serious now.

remeber sitting and waiting for a big hand AA/KK/QQ is good BUT the blinds will get you, plus you may not get paid off ect ect ect,

you need to range your hands to the postion your in. early UTG- 1/2/3 play only TT +
MID pos play hand like 88+

Late pos i play a lot from here ranging from AJ +

LOOK its hard to explain as im not an expert BUT i like to limp in with suited connectors ie_ 7 Heart 8 Heart see a flop there are many options for hands like this many fail to see the potentiol

you need to asses the table. if you have a aggresive player and you have a good hand let him bet all day,

just think carefully about what you do,

me i steal blinds with 72o and real trash, why BET SIZING Big Smile

best thing for you to do is post us some hand historys and we can all give feedback and go from there, perhaps i will start a Hand history thread and see what you all make of it.

Actually I prefer play against maniac who shove with trash more than play against nits.
Against maniacs you just need to be patience and do not get on tilt.

Avoid playing raised pots out of position. Play TAG. Play+EV poker, implied odds & pot odds matter. Win big. Thumbs Up
