Omaha  0
My favorite game of all is Omaha Hi. This game has taught me more about poker than anything. Here is my question:

Why does it seem that the Omaha tables attract older crowds?

Has anyone else experienced this also?

An explanation could be that a lot of Omaha player are people bored after player many and many years at Holdem tables.

Another that omaha need more reasoning capacity meanwhile young people want everything and want it fastly; but it's also true that one of the best omaha player is quite young

I'm guessing maturity helps with playing the game. Or maybe Omaha is more sophisticated.

Certainly a LOT harder that HE, though I personally have been working on my Omaha, Hi and Lo

I love NL texas holdem. It is my favourite card game I've ever learned. I've only played omaha a few times. I know how to play omaha in terms of rules but as we all know, learning to play poker is something that can only be done with experience. The level of hands is of course much higher in omaha. A flush is a good hand in holdem but pretty poor in Omaha and likely to be beaten by a full house.

The way I see it is that I'm pretty good at holdem after two years but it would take me another few years to learn omaha properly, which I agree is a harder game at the basic level. Frankly I can't be bothered and I'm happy with texas holdem. I think my mentality is shared by many players and since we all learn holdem first and this also happens to be the most available game online, the desire to switch games is very low at this stage.

I have been looking into Omaha and trying to play it on the Cake network, but everyone pf raises the pot everyhand and making it basically a coin flop to the river. Is it just the players at Cake or is this standard play with Omaha? I get the basics but would think you would have some sort of pf strategy other than all in everyhand. Which is why I haven't gotten into Omaha yet. Any tips???

Equity preflop is much closer between hands in omaha. There is nothing like aces in holdem, where you are a 80% favorite against one opponent. AAxx or KKxx are still good starting hands. Try to play hands, where all 4 cards can work together.

tell me shokaku (I almost never play omaha)
but if all four cards have to work together I think I am looking for a straight, that is not a good point in omaha..
but maybe i missed your tip, can u please explain something more? Worship

A rundown like QJT9 is a decent starting hand, even better when doubble suited. You can make a straight, can have a redraw to a higher straight or can have two or "three" pair if there are a lot semi high cards.

But naturely you must be able to fold even strong hands in Omaha, when it is most likely that you are beat.
