I play at vc poker at the moment and I find the DON's there not at all profitable. I played a lot of Don's at party poker (to high of a rake) and pokerstars. Half of my bankroll comes from Don's and made some good cash there. But now due to a very good bonus I recieved, I'm playing at vc poker.
I started playing some Don's and I saw that 90% of them (full ring and short handed) there were still more (sometimes everybody) then half the players remaining when the blinds were 200/400 . because you only can play turbo don's on Ipoker I was amazed that after a while the Don changed into a push or fold game. I mean it was becoming just a matter of luck.
Why don't they just put regular Don's on Ipoker, because the turbo's are just a joke, and they need no skill at all, just luck.

With the bonus/rakeback offers at Ipoker are good for that playing style, the games there are full of nits. So switching to slower speed games would not change that much.

LOL funny thing u mention that. Yesterday I was playing in an don at PKR 5$ buy-in whit turbo blinds too, and during a hand 2 short stacks went allin because blinds were already 1,5k/3k with ante. In that hand, 1 had 77 the other AK. Board came quads so the guy with AK won cuz of A kicker. After that, the two chipleaders, with over 200k, start asking why wasn t it split pot I was like: " Wtf? the chip leaders by far don t even know the rules " showing that u don t really need any skills to win a turbo... It s just allin or fold at somepoint. All u gotta do is be lucky to have nice cards! Ah I tryed to explain them why wasn t split but they were so idiots they couldn t understand
hahaha typicall, get that all the time when I'm playing micro stakes PLO, they think they got the nuts but they don't haha. I just wonder what kind of Don's your playing, cause how can the chip leaders have over 200k the Don's I play in usually have a chip total of 9k or 15k ghehe .

I don't agree with you. I think you shold know that DON's are profitable when you are a good player in the push or fold fase. If you have a good ICM game, you should be a winner player.

I play a lot of Turbo DON's and find due to the nature of the game there's quite a few swings - win 10 in a row, lose 6 etc sometimes - nature of the beast when you're going all in so often, but in general yes they're profitable in the long run as long as you keep to solid push/fold play and don't get caught up in multiple pots or all ins early on unless you have the nuts- always try and wait for other players to knock each other out.
* and if everybody is playing so tight that they're still all ther at high bllinds, it means you can steal blinds more easily - tighter players call less often so steal a little earlier in these situations to gain an edge, even if it's just one more round it can make the difference.
