Choose a table with at least 7-8 players best 10. (go for 2 tables as you are going to fold a lot)
1 Avoid tables with a lot of raising/re-raising going on. 2 Buy-in for 20x BB [so for NL10 ($0.05/$0.10) it’s $2.
3 Wait for the big blind to come around to you or immediately start. playing if you are on one of the 2 late positions.
4 Play only good hands relative to your position – AKx, (AQs maybe) and monsters (AA/KK/QQ) in early position, add JJ,TT,99,KQs to the list for middle position, add 88,77, A+face card, A+rag suited, suited connectors for your late position playables. Create your own list and stick to it.
5 Raise accordingly, you will never enter a pot without your guns blazing unless you are in the small blind and the pot odds for calling are really good or you get to see a free flop from the big blind. Proper raising means 4x BB raises + 1x BB for each limper if you are opening the pot. If there was a raise/re-raise, either re-raise 3-4x the last raise/re-raise + 1x the last raise/re-raise per caller or go directly all-in.
6 Know when you are beat, do not be afraid to lay down AK if you miss with it and there are more than 2 people playing for the pot. Make continuation bets against tight opponents. Conti-bets should be around 50-66% of the current pot.
7 Always keep your stack at 20x BB if it falls bellow this level, Stand up and play somewhere else when you have 35x BB or more leave.

Seems a good streategy, if you have right cards.
With a so short stack, what's hap if you don't see cards for 20 minutes ( as often happens to me )?

Why would you avoid a table with alot of raising if you 're only playing strong hands?
Surely that would be to your advantage? No?

It's not about not having the money. I play shortstack strategy because I believe it is a better and faster way to earn money in poker. There are some negatives and it can be difficult but I think I make more money this way than playing a bigger stack even at the same levels.

Here are what I think are the advantages:

It's good education if you play tournaments. In tourneys you need to play both short stack and big stack and if you want to survive if you get into the unfortunate position of short stack around the bubble or want to be able to make a big comeback without having to resort to wild all in gambling then sss cash games can teach you a lot.

You don't have to worry so much about bad beats or unavoidable hands. We all know that sometimes in poker you get into a hand where no matter what you do, the chips are going all in and going to that big stack. With SSS strategy the maximum loss in one hand is much smaller, and even if you have doubled up several times over a passage of play, which of course is the point, you still haven't lost anymore than the original buy-in and your bankroll is safer.

Although you can obviously win more money if you play with a bigger stack, the amount you can win in proportion to the amount you risk is much better with SSS as (in theory) it's easier to double up with a small stack than as chip leader.

If you follow bigfoots advice, I follow some similar rules but not the same, then you can build your bankroll quite quickly. Of course you should still follow good bankroll management and play at the right level. I would say take a lot smaller percentage of your bankroll than you would with a medium stack but play at slightly higher levels than your bankroll allows you to play with the medium stack.

in a table where a lot of raising is already going, most of the times ppl won't fold their weak hands (so more badbeats) and their are chances you will get reraised allin preflop more often

IMO....Once you increased your stack 25 %.

Hate short stacking but it's a good way of making a complex game very simple, better players than your self will have less advantage.....but who plays better players than them self Aww crap!

when I first read about SSS they talked about 25BB to leave the table and <15BB o rebuy til 20BB.

I think this strategy is good to clear bonuses on site applying the rake dealt system; I don't know if it is the exact name but I mean hose sites who give points rakebased to players who were dealt cards even if the didn't contributed to that pot.

But about making money with SSS I have my doubts;
you have to fold a lot and when you raise you often have to face two situation:

- oppos folds
- you find yourself allin in a coinflip.

I think it is a good strategy for beginners cause you don't have to take difficult choice and you don't get involved in tricky hands.

It is a little boring to me: I say it cause I've played it a lot and sometimes still play it; but now I found BSS more exciting.
