since you all are shortstacked i would prefer to go allin preflop with KQs, but now on flop i would have put him allin. if you don't do it he'll definitely go allin, so why not have some fold equity.
Would have gone allin preflop too or would have avoided to push preflop. Depends on your kind of strategy but I prefer too avoid risks in tournament when I'm still far from money

You are on straight draw and on flush draw; you still have 1500 chips and your oponent just 800. If he decided to go, being way behind you, he has strong hand, like pair or AK,AQ, AJ. In some of this situations you would be behind at flop but, once you are stronger in chips, you can try him and make a 400 bet. Its half oponents stack so, if he have low pair he will go all in, if he have T or J he will call to try and rob the max from you, if not he will fold. If you go all in after flop you can loose half you stack because of a to fast move so, its better to go slower in this case. You will risk less.

That was I thought after. Thanks to everyone, I think the right move was to put him all-in. I don't know why I was playing too tight. May be because itg was a league between friends, with points per position and I didn't want to lose before the Final Table.
Finally I took the worst choice I guess. Check/call (yeah, why check if you are going to call his all-in, answer: I really don't know why I did that)
He showed A-4o, turn blank, river blank and the tournament ended to me.
I would bring later another hand where I'm not sure if my decision was correct.

Put him all-in. You have an OESD and two overs.
And next time with KQs UTG and stacks that shallow, push or fold preflop.
His M is about 8 here, so IMO, i dont think he's reached the point of fold or shove preflop. Once it gets below 5, thats when i would switch to fold or shove (most likely, depends on relative stack sizes & oppenents tendecies as to what hands im ready to commit with) BTW plexochi, do you usually raise with KQ UTG? Not sure i agree with that play, but then again i play quite tight, and with your stack shrinking i would prefer to see a cheap flop with KQ & would prob fold to decent sized raise. Post flop, i would most likely push him all in right there, but that also very much depends on the opponents tendecy's again, & its really a toss up as to how confident i feel i could take it down right there, even if he calls you still have your open draw & 2 overs so its not a terrible play to push him in all honesty.

I would consider going all in, have a good location, you can get a high pair or a straight on the turn - river, and the only hand that could be dangerous villain would be a pair of jacks or at least a pocket jacks in his hand. quite unlikely for the wager on the flop.
