When do you stop at a winning table?  0
When winning at a table do you play untill your streak runs out and some bad beats come your way? Do you continue after a set time or do you leave after for instance doubling your buyin or trippling your buy-in or something like that?

I usually play after a set time but sometimes when a table is to good to be true I usually

A) If i have been playing great and feel like im having good reads on my opponents i will extend the time
or
B) If i have been having insane amounts of luck sometimes i leave before the time is up so i dont lose my sweet sweet cash =)

also im pretty supersticious so weird stuff will make me stay and leave =)

edit: btw i do mean at a specific table not the whole session.

I never stop, poker is bout the long run, upswings/downswings included, so for me no need to stop.

so you just sit down and play at the same table untill the light goes out? -.-

It's all about time I'm afraid. If I have an hour to spare, maybe two, sometimes three...

What weird stuff would that be then? Tongue

edit: Ah, you did say you meant at one table, not a session. My bad. Then I guess it's up to how good I feel at that table. Until my time runs out, that is...

If you win big, some other player(s) must lose big. If the target(s) leave the table, there is no reason to continue playing.

This is a nice point: after a long time I learned when to stop a losing session without tilting but I still don't know if u have to leave or not a winning table.
But I still don't know when to leave a winning table, if I have to leave a winning table or not.
Sometimes happened I said myself why I didn't leave first;
Now I'm learning something more:
maybe Doomdy is right when he said poker is one big session,
Shokaku's one is a good point as well.

I hope I will have soon the "problem" to be sitting with big winnings in front of me and will think again about your suggestions

Well, i can only talk for myself, for me its like ''the more hours i play the more i win''.
Offcourse there is a max, i cant play 10h a day Smile

I think you should always leave a table wwhen you're feeling tired or distracted regardless of whether you're winning or not. Quit while you're ahead sort of thing.

I usually don't play ring games a lot, but when i do, i usually leave when i have doubled my buyin or feel i'm getting tired/distracted and will lose if i stay there or if i have limited time.

I play BSS and I leave the table when I get more than 150 BB.
Anyway I can keep playing at one table if there are a lot of fish player re-buying again and again but this does not occurs very often.

Sometime I don't leave a table becase I want to take revange of a fishy player. Usually it woorks to me, unless he leaves the table before I can get my money back. Big Smile

For me better not so long when I'm winning.
Only exception when I feel to have table under my power Big Smile Big Smile
and, of course, I lose all Tongue

you shouldn't stop playin as long as you can read your opponents good and they play on your hand, but as soon as you notice that someone has read your game i think you should get out... no matter good cards or not, he might just wait for you and take you all

Well i do belive sometimes you do get the hot seat, and when you do IMO keep going and max it.
But overall a session is a session if you intend to play 1hr then just play 1hr.

this is indeed a very good point of view and agree completely .

Hmm depends how im feeling really. Sometimes i struggle to leave one of those sweet cash up tables when its all flying my way lol But most of the time if i manage to get a double or triple up, i'll take it and head to the next table and again look for a next double or triple, unless i really like the table .i.e fishy/weak,passive players.

For instance i found a pretty old really nice coin a few weeks back (its not really worth anything i looked it up) and now its just laying around on my desk. I sometimes do a coinflip before coinflip situations (early tournament stages Big Smile) and if i call it correctly i will call the hand too. Also i got obsessed with finding four leaf clovers all summer....from the start i was jsut looking around when i was on my smoke breaks but after a while a actually couldnt helt myself from looking. Made alot of bad decisions the day i finnally found one =). I guess the moral of my story is not to be an idiot and stay the hell away from obssessive thinking.

also on the rare occassion when i do get lucky with a girl i normally take that as a good sign and spend the next day playing to high stakes for my roll.
