lol.. over 50% check behind
well, he calls ur preflop raise and then he makes a weak check on the flop, the board is colored, you have TOPTOP.. the only right play here is a cbet, 3/4 of the pot

Well I really don't know if people really think that or just vote for the first option.

Thanks to everyone who posted to give his/her opinion.

I didn't have reads about him, so when he checked I though he could have a hand like KQs, QJs.
I don't put him in a over pair or AK, AQ because I thought he would have re-raised.

I never thought he could have a low pair, maybe because I'm still a little noob.

Well my thinking at the end was: He propably has nothing but I don't want to see overcards on the turn or on the river and to make my decision harder. I pushed all-in.

He made an insta-call with the nuts. Turn over pocket 8s for a set, so I was death unless runner-runner AA came , what obviously didn't happen. Aww crap!

I should have made a standard cbet and to change to check/fold if he would have called or re-raised.

Cbet.
If he re raises he probably has overpair or some other beast hand so probably best to fold.

Thats unlucky that he flopped his set but i think you played it badly in my opinion; sets are mostly slow played on the flop & thats why you should have been suspicious about the check and put in the cbet to see where you stand b'cuz if he has anything hes guna call or come large & thats where you can slow things down. Although, i think he might have had some sort of read on you b'cuz he played this hand nicely, checking & hoping you would bite the bait. Im never a fan of moving all in after a sly check, plus theres no point in risking your whole stack & tourney on such a -EV play at this stage of the comp cuz the only hands that are gona call are the nuts & the ones that have you beat.

I pushed all-in.

Shock
The pot is 10k, you have >30k behind. A push is not a good play here.

I would say play your TPTK aggro! standard cbet was in order. its a rainbow frop and having raised preflop to get flat called, you can put him on cards higher than those on the board. if you check you "may" give him a chance to draw out to a bigger pair. if cbet is raised you can open up a 3bet range depending on your experience with this player. but i would say checking here is not an option! why give him a free card!!!!

Just cbet, fat lol @ all retard that say check. You may be against a hand that will be upgraded by the turn. Just bet to end the pot ( i didnt say all in, all in this case is kinda retarded, unless youre nearly sure hes gonna call with overcards thinking ur bluffing)

you all ways need to re-evaluate unless you have the stone cold nuts...
Re-evaluating a hand street by street is a defo ...
Its hard to give these sort of hands up but if you want to play winning poker thats one of the trates you need.
Unlucky though Angry

I dont see how you cannot C bet. In fact to check behind you are making a monumental error.

You have shown strength pre flop. After the flop you have actual strength. TPTK is about as good as its gonna get that late in a game.

You have to show more strength and bet at least 3/4 of the pot after the flop. if he re-raises all in, personally I feel you have no option other than to call. I strongly doubt he has an overpair to a pair of 8s. If he had an overpair Js or Qs then the lot would have gone in pre flop to stop what is clearly a blind steal.

To allow your opponent an extra card could prove fatal.

Supposing hes got KQ, KJ, J 10, QJ, something along those lines, you are giving a shot at hitting a higher pair, and if you dont put the pressure on, then you could let him in later in the hand.

If you let an overcard in, and he bets, you cannot call. You have to lay it down..

So its got to be a c-bet showing strength, and personally, if he does go over the top, I'd be 99% certain to make the call...

I am with you there...

Anyone who says check behind wants shooting..

You have shown strength. you have to carry that on. No player worth their salt would show strength, then allow their opponent a free card after the flop..

thats just plain suicide.

absoluty C-Bet and when he pushes you have to fold

defintitely c bet, and personally i don't think i could get away from this hand either, but that would depend on if i'd been at the table the whole time with this guy and knew what he was like. For me, i'm 3betting 88+ if i'm going to be out of position because if overcards come its most likely going to be check to the raiser and then fold when he c bets, so i'd put villian on some SC type hand which missed. Then if he calls/raises, you can use the info you already have on him to make a decision - is he likely to be doing this with 10 9 for example, or would he only play a set this way? i think we need more info on villian to make a decision here.
