The Grand is closest to being a true poker movie, unfortunatly it suffered from a miniscule budget and very limited theatre release. Even with these handicaps, I could argue that is better than rounders. Rounders is still good though. 21(as the title suggests) is focused on blackjack and a team of MIT students that beat the house with a team card counting system.

First I thought, that is wrong ! ) But no, but very good ) Nice gesture, that James Garnert it was being included in it,if m he was Maverick long time ago once already ) Jodie Foster great and Mel Gibson unconscious good one ) Glover does not jump in now ) Right he has two years, how I saw the cinema. Really great, and authentic the western background )
When the music of the lethal weapon begins to sound! Huge! The film it between few people owes, of what I get never bored, and I can guffaw even after the 100. look on the punchlines!

Very good movie Rounders, seen it twice already Also, you guys should look at The Cincinnati Kid. It's an old movie staring Steve McQueen and they play 7stud as I remember, but good movie for the poker heads nonetheless.
Rounders is a classic, but I personally didn't really like the movie. 21 has a great story and very good actors so yeah, really worth watching. Lucky you is more a chickflick than a real gambling movie, it's all about love and lies and sh*t so really no need to download it.
I prefer to watch like the poker documentaries about amarillo slim or behind the scenes of the WSOP and stuff, really amusing and interesting. Also the documentary "beyond the felt" (you can watch it on youtube) is worth the time ...
ps: if you really want to have a laugh watch the show "50£ you will watch this" (also on youtube) it's about an englishmen who tries to be a highroller with just 6k£ really amusing to watch .

just watched "The Grand" as per reading this thread. Good movie, would recommend over Rounders for sure.. Rounders is just another movie, it's alright, but it's exactly what you expect it to be..
For comedy fans, the cast of The Grand is unbelievable.. Top notch. Plus cameo's by stacks of poker pros. And the whole thing I think is just so much more "poker" than Rounders. Rounders is "hollywood" The Grand is "degenerate fun".
