I think this may be one of those cases where the 15 second rule for voting is not needed. He is not the best player by any stretch of the imagination. I don't even think he's the best tourney player anymore. It's not a certainty he ever was.

I would go got one of the best... Not actually THE best, but one of them. He is certainly better than me. But he is a total ashole, as it comes to table manners, but that's a different story. The dude that refused to shake his hand in this yerars WSOP should get all the credit in the world.

i dont think so either..
he just whines every time he loses and hes always saying that if it wasnt luck involved he would win every time, but the truth is that in high stakes poker, he was just owned by everyone
I`m going to vote yes tho i actually think like most of the others that he is one of the best, and i realy enjoy watching him play on tv!!
as for his table manners i realy dont know who came up with the idea that poker is a "Gentlemans" game since the purpose is to feed on the mistakes of others and hunt down the weak, there are no friends at the poker table.
i find his behaving rather amusing and his skills speak for them self

Hellmuth is an absolute legend. Poker on t.v. is rarely worth watching if he's not involved. He can be the funniest thing to watch when he loses. Love him!
One of the greatest people to watch tilt. I loved it when durrr and him went heads up and durrrr won. He ranted and raved over how bad durrr played, but when he beat him the second time he gave him respect.

I don't thinik so. I would say he needs to change his manners at the table, but that's never gonna happen. I say the best all round player right now and possible for a long time ... Phil Ivey

He's far far away from being the best poker player. No doubt he played very well this last WSOP but they are so many professional poker players much better than him like Ivey, Negreanu, Dan Harrington, Hansen,... Plus I don t understand how can someone who plays poker for life gets so mad with bad beats
My oppinion is Phil Hellmuth is a proffessional Poker player but not he is the best poker player. I think the best cash game player is Phil Ivey and the best tournament player is Chris Jesus Ferguson. Good Luck. Meet at the tables.

Posted by Plexo: Well if he has won 11 bracelets on WSOP he must be good. I don't think he is the best in the world but one of the best for sure.
If you think that Hellmuth is not one of the best, how can you explain his winnings????? Just luck??? I can't belive that.
Anyway I don't like him so much.
It s very simple! Him and Doyle Brunson won mostly of their bracelets when WSOP had like 200, 300 players max. On this WSOP 09 there were 6400 players registered. Let s see when Hellmuth will win back again on these circumstances ...
