K K J 8 is not a playable hand in Omaha hilo really, especially when neither of the kings are suited. You're only playing high cards here and they're not eeven suited or connected (a suited J isn't worth s**t unless you're short handed and even then its poor enough). Should have mucked this hand preflop

indeed. i tried to get it HU against the shorty for the knockout points. i needed them really hard at that point and had no problem to play for 500 chips with just a medium-strength high hand, for that reason. (i ended up 1 point short for a piece of the extraprizepool btw )
oh. and we were shorthanded, buddy.
unfortunately the big blind did not get the memo and i obviously dont fold on that flop. i know third flush is not a monster in omaha, but i liked my topset counterdraw, in case my opponent really has a better flush.

Sorry, I didn't realise you were short handed, trying to get it heads up in position is usually a good call alright, but you need lo cards. Obviously its just major bad luck after the flop (Don't play matrixes so i dont get the point things)

That's why I love omaha. I made my best suck outs playing Omaha. Anyway, although I'm not an expert Omaha player I thinkl your hand wasn't good et all to Omaha Hi/Lo.

ive got to totally agree on 8JKK not beeing a playable omaha8 hand usually. the HH above is a good example why. even if you manage to play for the full pot: the jack-high flush will either win a small pot or loose a huge one. dont try this at home kids
this said: if i had knocked out the shorty there, i would have had at least 1,80 $ extra in prizemoney (relatively much compared to the 5,50 $ buyin); well worth the risk of 500 chips imo. it was a pretty specific situation.

Posted by DaneMitic: dunno about h/l but in omaha Hi its not really a good situation for you, after he pushed allin, its a fault wtih just 7 outs, imo...
i had 342 to call with 4000ish in the pot already (and direct prizemoney to be made from the matrix-prizepool). i dont see me folding there. also this guys have been so incredibly bad; there was a decent chance that he had a worse flush or even just bottom set.
in a PLO or NLO cashgame with deeper stacks i totally agree with you. 3rd flush with topset goes into the muck against a decent opponent there. omaha can be so sick...
