There is a lot of ways of referring but some are just shitty and wont (EVER) work, like going in pokerstars and shouting your referral code. I've started to go to Zynga poker on social websites were people just play and play for chip money and I got several people who went into the site, of course they mustn't really be into putting their ID on the internet or having them called by a bot but let's see the results later.
In your experience what worked better to get referals?

Banners on your personal blogs can work fine. Poker forums are likely to clear your link and they may also ban you, they can see BRM as a competitor since they may have affiliation contracts with poker rooms and not allow any link to it. Non poker forums can see it as advertising. And youtube videos can be fine too, post a tiny url to catch attention.

I went for the refering real life friends. 100 % of my referals (1) is a real life friend, so I can't actually choose anything else. But since you have to upload your ID and stuff, its easier to explain to someone you actually know, how it all works.

I think the best way and probably the only way I'd ever bother is if you're running your own site and you can but up some banner advertisement, obviously you need some nice traffick. When I was about 15 I used to have a web site (for computer games lol, 15 )which got around 500 unique visits a day, I used to make a nice little bit of money from referal banners on that.
But if you're talking about going on other sites, poker rooms, chat rooms, forums, etc - well then it's just not cool - that is NOT you're advertising space, somebody else owns/runs that and most likely has their own advertising afailiates and particularily if they're a site related to poker then they don't want you posting your BS all over their site and trying to STEAL their advertising revenue.

The only persons i was able to bring to BRM were all real life friends so, to me, those are the easier. Others are a matter of luck, i guess. When i came, it was by my own, perhaps some of those who i talked to, just happened to made the same, i dont know, but i didnt get points for them.
1) Makes a bit.. not alot..Hardly the biggest moneyspinning method.
2) You have to be a right sad git to use a live chat room without a specific purpose to it... Unless its a poker chat room forget it.
3) Easiest way to get chat removed
4) I run a forum, and you try posting you referral link on it. You wont last a day.. Not at all recommended..
5) Unless its a poker forum no one would be interested. WHy would you post a link in a forum about knitting when its poker related.. TALK SENSE MAN
6) Please tell me you are kidding.. There are billions of videos on Youtube posted everyday.. Unless yours has Britney Spears committing lesbian acts whilst playing Phil Ivey heads up, you have little or no chance of ever making anything from it..
7) Even more depressing that option 6...
8) Now we're cooking... Simple method.. Create a poker forum and website, post your links, run some freerolls, get members. They see links. They click on them. They win money. They tell mates about it. Mates join your forum.. Mates get money to. and so ad infinitum..
I think to refer real life friends is the best: it depends on how many friends like hold'em. As for me I have many difficulties. So I prefer to partecipate to this site reading, voting and posting
I voted other because I haven't refr'd one single person, but then I haven't tried either. These are the people I hate the most "Going into poker rooms and say the link," if they are a losing player I always make sure to type in the chat box "I wouldn't join your stupid ass site because if that's how they teach it's members to play, and your a losing player, then I don't want to start playing like you and and the rest of the members and lose all my god damn money!!!!" (That's the nicer version)
--------- Sorry if I offended anyone, but then again if it offended you, then you have probably run into me and got slammed by me....lol. I hate those idiots!

I think the best way is to referall a real friends or just people from real... Maybe u can try with internet friends either but i couldn't try to cinvince some stranger to it... if i think if someone would try to show me site like that i would start to think it's some virus site or so and maybe remember the name os site and never enter! Scary!
