Hmm ... i couldnt come up of a better idea for money laundering than online poker. I mean you dont want to lose it all to another guy in two hands (chipdump) , but for a one hour session you could have given your opponent thousands and thousands of dollars totally legal and 100 % safe. You could be talking over the phone revealing your hands and then find a good spot to push all-in on river. On your bank records it only says "poker money"

I am not sure if we will see higher stakes than 1000/500 in the nearer future. The amount won or lost at this stake is more than the bankroll of most pros can take. Just look at Dwan. Winnings of a few years of online poker are gone in a few days.

I think people who break the law and have the need to launder money will be too greedy to pay the rake on an hours play.

Hmmm...options for laundering: a) hire a book doctor to launder millions of bucks. Don't know how much that would charge, but let's say he takes a 0.1% share on the money. that would be 1K per million or b) dump while playing heads up big bet poker: 1$ rake per hand, ~120 hands/hour for 1 or 2hrs ~120$ per hour. A shrink costs more than that

Not quite for me... You're saying it's much more excitment now... but not for me. When seeing rlly impresive pot was a rare thing I was saying "wow" , "omg" but now it's starting to be common things and we know what it is a common thing... After a while it starts beeing boring.

Bottom line is they are quite smarter ways to spend those amounts rather then on poker. And lets face it everyone of them who wins 2M of one day doesnt stop playin poker until the end of his life. He continues and in most cases loses they money
Actually there are some articles on the web about the amounts that were played several years ago vs the amounts that are being played today. These articles were stating how they think the large amounts peple are playing for online is starting to ruin online poker and it's future outlook. I haven't given that much thought yet but thought the point would come up sooner or later.
