lol Canada stinks so bad that we are never in a group which overall is surprising as we have many from all of these countries here as Canadian Citizans, yet none can play soccer

Group A is arguably the "Death Group". For us (Argentina) it was a pretty good draw, although if we keep letting Maradona have his every whim, I predict a 1st round elimination

I don't really care about football. I find it incredibly dull and as my country (by which I mean Wales even though technically my country is the UK) doesn't qualify for the world cup this draw means absolutely nothing to me.
Looking at the groups though, I find it strange that I have absolutely no idea which are the hardest groups. I would have thought I would be able to at least recognise the best group but I can't. I have no idea who out of slovenia, serbia and denmark who is the better team.
But what I find funny is that the draw for the rugby world cup which takes place in 2011 way after the football cup was made way before this draw. And even in that short time I would say that the opinions of the hardest group has certainly changed. Based on current play one of the rugby world cup groups doesn't seem to have any good sides at all (england, scotland and argentina group) but I assume that maybe the football world cup is too close to expect much change between now and then.

Too true and I would not write off the USA as thay are takeing the game more seriously now. Just look how well there womans team played this year........ So how mutch money will thay throw into the mens team.

England FTW - USA are our only threat in our group. But as usual us english will expect to win and be sorely disapointed when we get a dodgy decision and blame out poor play on it. We have got the best manager we've had in years, so I expect a deep run this time around.

I wasn't trying to go off topic. I was simply making a point that it might be too early to make assumptions about the groups. But as I said I know little about football so maybe this is not the case, and in fact the winners of each group next year are quite easy to predict now, in which case now is the best time to place a bet on your team.
....sorry just could not rest that comment
