Hello!
First, I am not a poker-pro, nor am I a very good player. But I understand the basics, and I am capable of playing okay ABC poker. My weakness would be in my patience, I can play well for 2 hours or so, after which I start looking for action. Thus, I never won a tourney with more than 350 players.
The 50k project is an attempt to get supported by the great community of BRM, which maybe also would help me train my patience. Getting response on what you do, wheter it is how you wipe your ass or play poker, is a great motivator.
So what is this?
Well, this is my attempt to reach 50 000$ before the end of 2010. High goal, but I feel it is doable. My ambition would be to use the few no-deposit bonuses I still have left to get and maintain a decent bankroll. I will be playing micro-cashgames up to 0.05/0.10 in order to earn some to be able to participate in tourneys with buy-in's of 30$+. Theese tourneys have high prizes which could boost my bankroll heavily.
Basic idea of how I am going to play: Try to work up as many bankrolls as possible to a amount that would give me 25 buy-ins at 0.05/0.10. After that I will play to earn buy-ins for big tourneys. I will avoid all cheap MTTs and only play cashgames and freerolls. Maybe enter a few SnGs if the bankroll allows me to.
My main goal: 50 000 USD Partial goals:
1. Reach a bankroll of 1000$. This would allow me to grind 0.05/0.10 on four different sites. 2. Reach a bankroll of 10 000$. At this point I might consider entering bigger games.
Partial goals will be added during my adventure.
Bankrolls: So, what bankrolls have I left to claim? Well, it is only the full-tilt bonus actually. So this is how my situation is:
Full-Tilt Poker: 50+50$ (Yet to claim) CelebPoker: 19$ Bwin: 15c + 20 free spins on a slot machine
If this fails, I have a plan B and also a plan C.
Plan B: Deposit of 100$ Plan C: Deposit of 100$
Thats about it. I will update here as I progress. First of all I need to check if my Celeb-bonus has arrived, after which I will spin on Bwin and the start four-tabling micro-stakes. Wish me luck!
Pokerstars is the best site to do this. You have to deposit though, 10$ and you can get started, play 0,10$ 360 players mtt (no entry fee and turbo) , multitable 9 tables. After profit, you can try (with 25$ or 50$) 0,25$ 45players mtt (no entry fee) or go straight to (with 55$ or 110$) 1,10$ 45players mtt etc etc. I did this myself, don't want to jinx anything, but it's so easy, all you need is time.. GL, I'll keep checkin' in on your challenge/project.

If your weskest point is patience then i might suggest that you just stick to cash games. MTTs take quite a long time to play and drains a lot of concentration

Playing the devil's advocate here, but setting such harsh expectations for oneself usually does more wrong than right. I'd say you give yourself some slack and start with a more realistic goal... Still, kudos if you achieve such a feat!

Nope, not a expectation. The only expectation I have is to hav fun. Theese are my goals, only to keep me motivated. If I dont make it, I still tried, and probably learned alot on the way. But thanks for your concern.
The idea is to participate in high buy-in MTTs since theese have big prizes. Maybee will only one or two wins be enough to reach that goal. Or maybee I don't win a single one, but as stated, at least I tried. Main goal is to learn patience

Thanks everyone!
Yes, it is indeed a high goal. I am not even a very good player. But rather than putting up a easy goal which I might achieve fast, I will have struggle all year. Every cent takes me closer the goal and make me feel better.
And as I said earlier, I am mainly looking to get experience and learn more about the game. If I don't make it, I still probably learned alot!
I am now at 48$, I cashed out al my winnings and deposited 10euro (=15$), also for the freeroll tickets, which I have only played twice since it began and cashed in one so I allready have 1 ticket for the big one, I don't play alot though lately, never get the chance to, lucky if I get 2 hours in 2 days. Now I play 0,25c 45SnGo, I love playing like this, I never stress when playing anymore and I used to stress alot, even when winning, I plan to play way more the next few days, I'm gonna try to make as much as I can, while moving up slowly but faster as I move up limits and cash it all out right before 31-12 and party way above my limit thanks to a whole lotta donks, ty guys and girls, much love.
Today I will make two small deposits. One to PokerStars and one to betsafe. At BS I have a 10$ freeroll-win to claim.
On top of that I find a few freerolls I will play. Both seems possible for me to win. One is for the NBC 2010 heads up. First qalify (top10) and then win one of the final tourneys to get a buy in for this. The other one is in three steps, first you win a buy in for a satelite and after that you can gain access to the weekly finals. Winner there gets a package to a live tourney with 150 people and a first prize of 75k if I dont remember wrong.
Been watching theese and they both have a low amount of participants.

Lost a few dollars yesterday while multi-tabling 20-25 tables (pics later) which was great fun. Went out on the bubble in a few with some tremendous bad beats.
1.KK vs AT. Flop: A A T 2 JT vs QQ Flop: T T x Turn: Q
And some AKs vs rags. But still great fun!
Edit: Also gained entry to two freerolls. One for 2500$ and one for 500$
