just thought of this .... and would be interested in the results ...... just gave a post the thumbs up ( http://www.bankrollmob.com/forum.asp?mode=thread&id... ) and its actually the first post i gave one too .... and when i checked my stats i see out of 136 posts i got 2 thumbs up and 0 thumbs down .......... and was wondering do you give posts a rating on a regular basis or like me do you just read and reply but dont rate as its not that obvious a thing to do with the thumbs .......would you rate posts more if it was more prominent .... or are you not bothered ..... would you like to have youre posts rated ......would you like to get more points if youre posts got more ratings etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc (thank god for copy and paste )
So well done dunotra for getting my first rating hope it means a lot to you (better say yes or you wont get any more)

Problem with the rating system is that there's too many ways to "use it". Like with psycokiller above, he feels that he hasn't read anything meaningful enough to give a rating (not that there's anything wrong with that). And then there are other people who would give a bad rating just because they don't understand the post or don't like the user.
So it's a tricky thing and I have thought many times if Mob Points could be added to it but I don't see a way it would be possible without being abused.

yeah good point but not rating a post doesnt rate it any less. I dontt see a lot of users using the thumbs up thumbs down so i dont its as easy as that!

yes if good post i always put rating but if very poor i just put in not very interesting or some not interesting info puting i never bet just read or read a half and go away

Nice one just for curiosity i rechecked my profile and now i have 4 good ratings ........ Dam im slow didnt see them on the top of this post (drinking last night not up to speed yet)
yep can see administrators point on giving mobpoints for rating, easily abused, but i must try and start giving some as some of the posts are really good and worth reading either for the help or for making me laugh ....

Everybody is somewhat "negative thinkers" when it comes to doing stuff online You rarely see people (on other forums) create threads to tell how happy they are about a certain product/company. But if that product/company has disappointed a user just once, they instantly create a thred about it. That's just how it is and something you need to keep in mind.

Well I know of plenty of threadds on here that are positive when it comes to BRM I do agree about the "negative" as yes I have been guilty of that even on here with some sites. As well there WHERE ,( notice the caps) a few posters who where just plain A holes and yes, I have given negative ratings, but more positive

Lol, i tried to give a rating once, but a big red cross showed up. when clicking on it, the following text appeared: "You are not allowed to rate posts yet, it requires 25 posts in the forum before this feature is available."
