This friday i played poker with my friends live (cash game) i want some advice about a hand i played.
I was bigblind (QQ) and small blind raised me 3x blind i reraised to 7x blind then he went all-in 50x blind i called him. Did i do right or not please give me some advice. The other player is not very tight and not very agressive pretty average player.

And he showed up A-A and i won the pot by a set on the river.

I guess it all depends on the player, what you know about his style and how he bets when he has a great pre-flop hand. In this case I would have only called, since there are 8 cards in the deck greater then Q that can easily appear on the board.

The tricky thing is if you only called and saw a K or A on flop, or something dangerous, maybe you would have folded.

The good thing is that you won on river with an inferior hand. This does not happen too often.

I guess it worked out for you, so congratulations on the pot, but try and be careful next time you have QQ, because it´s a good hand, but not the best.

wow you got pretty lucky, but who are we to say you played wrong? you won the pot.. take for granted that thats not gonna happen all the time so theres no better way of playing if the result = to a doubling up... so nice job lol

Beelzebub, how do YOU feel you played the hand? Do you always try to get your opponent to go all in when you have QQ, or was it just this especific player?

Well people first you need see how much players are on the table you can bet like that in a table whit 10 or more players anyway its ok go all-in whit a QQ of course you go vs a AK or KK or AA but whit QQ you can see that Blink whit JJ fold

Beelzebub, do you have any other hand histories that you would like to share with the rest of the forum? Please don´t hesitate, there will always be someone here to comment, or just talk about any hand. Thumbs Up

i think that you probably will be getting your money in bad the majority of the time when calling 50 big blinds with queens. there are three or four hands an average player will do this with, AK AA KK and maybe QQ, you are 55 percent favourite against the kings only and against the over pairs you are looking very poor. i think its an easy fold with QQ's. i find it harder with KK since there is only one hand that is better.

but you ended up winning so it was a good call

I say this too, because how are you going to tell a person he or she made a terrible call if he or she won the pot?

It´s complicated, but with all do respect, I think those kinds of call are terrible!

no im not always trying to get a all-in situation preflop with qq. usauly i bet a amout of like 4 times big and they call and on the flop i decide my move.

------------
you really got something there a player would not do such a move with kn-kn or a-q.
