i like rebuys make one when the tournament begins and just play tight let the other players make the prizepool bigger, in a normal tourney u can eat the fish just once here they feed u for a whole hour .
I love rebuys, simply because half the idiots playing them havent got a clue, and they can be a very lucrative moneyspinner.
People live under this misconception that to win a rebuy you must have a massive chipstack when the rebuys end, or else you have no chance. This is self defeatist, and complete nonsense. In my experience those that get the huge stacks very rarely make the money anyway. They are simply all in and hope players who get lucky during the rebuy period.
The best way to play rebuys is to be mega mega tight. Wait till you get a monster hand, then hit and hit hard. 99% of the time you will get action and you can get quick double ups. Then sit tight again.
As long as you have chips when the rebuys end, then you are in with a shout, and I know I am good enough to fight my way back into contention no matter how bit the chipleaders stacks are. Eventually with the cards, and good play Ill catch them up later..
So yeah, definitely play rebuys, just dont fall into the trap that most players fall into, that you need a monster stack else you cant win in them. THats rubbish. All you need is a chip and a chair and the poker ability.. With that , you can conquer any rebuy...

@ fcumred:
Thats exact the same how i play them, even if i didnt play a hand until break its no problem just addon (many donks dont addon) and ur stack is sometin in top 35%/40%. So after the break you have very healthy stack and plenty off time to reach the money or go deep.

I've played rebuy tournaments only few times, I didn't like those kind of tournaments; but after these last readings I want to reconsider my opinion and try these ones. I normally play MTT and play very tight (maybe too much), so I just have to consider them as freezout tournament in which the buy in is the total sum of buyin+rebuy+addon
@ Doomdy I agree on what you say about addon but would like to know the reason of the rebuy on the first hand

i dont mind them if i dont get donked to death by some donk going all in every hand. even worse when u get a stack and one of the all in donks gets lucky 6 times in a row with complete crap builds a bigger stack than u then kills ur stack just before the end of the hour with 94 off! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr happened to me yesterday in a 10 euro but in rebuy i was so pissed off!

Re-buy...? thats a hard one. Ive been in tournys where I've absolutly devistated the field in the first hour and not need to re-buy and still only won a small amount. Then Ive had such poor luck and had to re-buy several times in the first 20min so its down to the game and how it plays out for me. The other thing I look out for is the stack of the players at the table with me, If they (over half the table) have double the stack I have and re-buying will close the gap then I'll re-buy but if the table is made up of players with low stacks then I wont bother till the count gets a bit higher. Also the table image is important as if everyone is very tight there will be less opertunity to double up so getting the chips early on with a re-buy is a good idea, ready for later if you get moved to a better (more action) table. So topsum up it depends on several things.

Hi!!
Rebuy MTT. But, you don´t really need to rebuy. The begin of this kind of MTT is a madness of allin. Specially in low buyin, many players go allin with anytwo. We only need to wait the right hands.

i never rebuy at freerols thats why is called free roll so u shouldent rebuy i think if u rebuy thats means that is already not freeroll for you so if u rebuy 5 times for 0.30$ thats 1.5$ is better u register for better prize pool tournament in that case

I don't like rebuys and never rebuy.
Like IslandJack says: "Rebuys make for a lot of "all-ins" the first 30-60 min of a tourney. I don't generally like rebuy games for that reason and try to avoid them. Doesn't seem like real poker to me."
That's why I dont like them. too many gamblers and to many preflop allin.
Addons are nice and if I havent lots of chips I buy an addon.

Posted by dozn01: you need a nice bankroll 4 these games cause then you can just go all in every hand and rebuy rebuy rebuy
and maybe endup spending more than you win
see that too often thats why i dont play those anymore so many (dont give a damn about my credit card) all-in every hand for the 20 first hand make me feel like

Rebuys are great man, they will give you extra shots to take it back if you are bad beated eg. and add on and it will give you a nice advantage on the field.
By reading your thread I assume you dont like cash games aswell then

There are 2 ways to play a rebuy imo:
1) In the early rebuy period try to double/triple/quatro as fast as possible. How? Take many 50/50 shots, even 40/60 shots arent bad, so risk stack with any pair suited connectors above 78s ect, hands like KTs are perfect too. If u loose, np just rebuy, if u win put pressure on ur table. Try to havbe a very healthy stack during the rebuy period. After the rebuy allways! do the addon then play like a normal MTT. If u did rebuy for 6/7/8 times it doesnt matter, ur playin to win, if u get final table ur winnings are far more then these couple off rebuys.
2) In the early rebuy period: Allways do first rebuy first hand! Play tight, only risk ur stack with monsters. If u double or more ur lucky, if u dont there is no problem. After the rebuy period allways! do the addon. I u didnt get a hand during the rebuy np, with help of the addon u have a average stack, 40% off the field is allready eliminated so from now u play to reach the final table and make some serious money.
Note: I allways play like 2) but 1) isnt that bad, u need a healthy roll and dont care bout the rebuy money, many pros play like 1) remember that
