alright here i go..startin the new year on a new slate sick of losin all my money due to bad bankroll management..so i have deposited 55$ american on pokerstars to take advantage of the first time depostit offer..now ive been playin 1.15$ double or nothins won 5 of 6 and have a little over 58$ lol am i in the right direction or is there a better way? i find 2-3 hours is a bit long for a 3$ return? only issue is the next step up for DoNs is 5.20-40$...think thats to high for my bankroll right now..so should i stick to what im doin?

Yes, and this is where you really have to use your will power and stay at that level until you crush it and have the proper bankroll to move up. This is where you've slipped up in the past so be careful.
It's very robotic play and at those levels maybe you could up the amount of tables you're playing so you get a better $/ph.

It's always going to be hard making money with DoNs cos they have such a low payout per game. Rake is also incredibly high at these limits. They are good for clearing bonuses and earning money by grinding but not very good if you want to build a bankroll imo. You can usually afford to play higher rates than normal sngs since the amount of payouts should be higher but you can't afford to go anywhere near 5.20, that's only 10 buy ins and would have huge swings for your roll.
If you want to carry on with the DoNs I suggest you multi-table. It's easier with DoN's because they don't require the same attention as cash tables and Sngs. But personally i'd try something more exciting at the same low rates so you don't get bored and feel pressured to move up sooner.

I don't have much time from the start of January i don't play Poker much and i am playing just dons... The bad beats hit the most on Dons cause u need much more wins then loosing to be profitable... Sometimes i play and got so bad beats so after hours i have nearly the same ammount of cash which what i start :/. Good luck with them ^^ hope you play better then me ^^

you really want to multitable DoNs, otherwise i am sure they are hardly worth your time and efford (unless you get a lot of fun out of them).
i dont play much on stars and i also dunno how good you are at poker (or what are your strengthes in particular), but what i found to be worthwhile are the 2,20 $ sunday quarter million satties. you can unregister from the target tourney for T$ and if you hit a heater and score 3 in a row or something: why not have a shot at the tourney itself?
these satties are really easy, if you are somewhat used to satellites. i doubt they alone will earn you the bonus, but i believe they might be a worthwhile addition to your poker-schedule.
I started DoN's at 5$ buyin with a bankroll of 50$, but mainly because the rake at iPoker was too high, at those lower buyins. Anyway, I went up pretty fast and I never had less than 50$ in my account.
Conclusion: If you think you are playing DoN's correctly and you've enough confidence to beat them, then move up to 5$, but stay there until you have at least 30 buyins for the next level.
DoN's are less swingy than normal SNG's, so its worth a try, imo.

Offcourse u can make a roll outoff DoNs but u have to multi them, at least 4 but 8 or more is even better, u dont get a high winrate off just 1 DoN so multi is the word, i started with $5 then $10, $20, $50, so yeh its doable just play them ultra-tight and ultra-agressiv when u got a monster then losing money isnt an option. But i wud say allways make sure u have 50 buyinns, so for now the rake is too high but once u hit $250 u can play $5 ones then its better.
I did copy my graph as u can see its not a big winrate but hey its just a start, its really a safe way to build ur roll, guess not the fastest way but playin tight its a way thats 100% doable, guess its even easy.

Just stick to it. If you want to build a roll then thats what you have to do, you will become a better player for it. Or go grind som micro tables, but DoNs are doable. PKR has $750 DoNs Doomdy? bet them tables fill fast.

i started yesterday playin 3 tables at a time..and know i can hanle more so maybe today ill go with 6 and c how i make out..i got my laptop hooked to the 61inch tv so no issues with vision thanks for the advice and interest keep yaz posted..joe

Hello! You can try to make 20$ of profit with your DoN. After try 4 MTT with 5$ each. On pokerstar you could of could prize pool and fun. If it don't try again DoN

stay on that level for a while , it will not hurt you a lot if you let's say lose3 in a row but if you would go up and lose 3 in a row at 5.20$5.40$ you would feel not comfortable and probably take more risk to win some $ back and that is the mistake that people make to oftend so , keep on playing micro and be patience enough to move on to the next level .
arsenej1, you should play the game that you are strong at. If it is DON, then that's what it should be. But if you are good at regular sit&goes or multitable sit&goes why not try those with the same buy in. If you are good at cash game then it is also an option, smth like NL 5. yeah ... do not go up if you are not ready ... i should know better ... i was on quite tilt today ... i had 160 $ on bwin and i was playing at 2.2 DON or SNG 10 players ... i got mad at one time and moved at 5.5 $ SNG turbo 10 players ... money flew from my account after getting really unlucky ... but , thats turbo i was down to 100 in one hour i think ... lol :| went to backgammon and live betting and got myself up to 180 :> i really hate tilt sesions ... quite frequent lately .
