I play at so low limits that I hardly see the same players twice or three times...but I do occasionally take a few notes (on full tilt). I like that little colored triangle they put that you can see to know that you have taken a note on that player

I also take notes on players, and i also like the little triangle thingy they have on full tilt. I always mark the fish green, and good players red, and also write notes. But if i'm looking for a table, and see a lot of green color, i like it!

When you play NL10 or higer on the same site a lot it really pays off to make notes on players. I always start with the limit ( coz I also play the 2 and 4 tables sometimes) and the no. of tables. On the big sites like Stars I don't bother since I don't play there often and like teteban says about micro, you hardly ever see them back.
I use terms like tag, lag and so, but don't know many. So I made some up myself or use (too) many words to describe a player. Any suggestions to make a list of terms + explanation? Anyone?

I make notes on full tilt and I find it easy enough although I can't compare it with 770. I never used to make notes but in the last few months I've tried to make as many as I can. When I'm multi-tabling or doing something else at the same time I don't make as many but this is probly not the best way to play poker as you should always really be analysing your opponents when not involved in the hand. Even if you're only making mental notes, you should be assessing the other players styles. If I see someone make a really bad/odd call whether they win or not I try to make a note in case I meet this person at another table. But I haven't yet once been able to take advantage of a note on a player that I had made at a previous time. I don't think that you can use your notes to make an instant judgement on a player you meet again. You don't know if that player was having an off day, was on tilt, or even if someone else was playing on his account. You can only use your notes to help judge their play faster. I think you should also take into account the type of tourney and level you are playing. I always write next to the note an indication as I play various levels and people change their play to suit the kind of tourney. The biggest problem I have with notes is when a player gets knocked out and/or leaves your table you can't make notes on them about the last hand. you can probly search for them and find them but I don't have time for this if I'm still playing.
I take notes about the players playing at my SnG limit when they do sth "unusual" like using a very wide starting card range, being extemely aggressive, limping pocket AA, KK, etc. It doesn't take too much time and it saved me money a few times...
Me too I tried in the past but I didn't feel like to report notes and to save them. Then I noticed players were always different and I had to start again to take notes every evening, so I stopped.
With poker trackers is very easy to do it: i used to use Poker Office but I've been thinking in changing because I would like to do more things than can I do

(finaly quote works to me )
yea, sometimes i thought i know the players due to my notes.....then fell on my nose but i still take notes on smaller sites. on bigger sites i rarely met the same players again.
unfortunatly i lost all notes on players because my HDD broke ...and only AP has a option to save and download them again.

Im massivly taking notes (at least two players/sng). I generally take notes for strange players and players that seems good. Im doing it in Full tilt, and well its easy, fast and clear in this lobby, so no prob for me there
I keep track of the good and bad players, only the ones that catch my attention. I only take notes if someone totally sucks or is really kicking ass. Otherwise, if the player is average I don't bother taking notes at all. Don't have time to update the entire world of poker from my house.

I'm pretty sure majority of players do take notes... As for the second question - I think they are all pretty much the same, and I wouldn't really care how good/bad the "notes" facilities are when choosing the site to play on, as there are always other ways to take notes if the ones provided by the site are not sufficient.
